About this property

Newly renovated gite located in a quiet hamlet just 3km from the pretty town of Montignac. Guests have the use of our stunning swimming pool surrounded by corn fields. Bedroom 1 has a 6ft(180cm) bed which splits into 2 singles (90cm) and an ensuite shower room. Bedroom 2 has a 5ft (150cm) bed and an ensuite shower room. Both bedrooms have high ceilings with exposed beams and exposed stone walls. Downstairs is a modern well equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and fridge/freezer with a water dispenser. The dining area has a table with 4 original Ercol chairs and the living area has two comfy sofas and a TV. A separate cupboard houses a washing machine. There is a garden area private to the gite with somewhere to sit in the sun or shade.
Le Sorbier is quiet hamlet just 3km from Montignac-Lascaux where you will find cafes, bars and restaurants together with a bank, post office, shops, infact everything you need. There is a market every Wednesday and Saturday where you can buy local produce and gifts and souvenirs. Montignac is the home of the popular Lascaux palaeolithic cave paintings. It is situated in the Vezere valley which is famous for its prehistoric sites and caves many of which have been registered by UNESCO as World Heritage.
The popular tourist sites of the Dordogne valley can all be reached in less than an hour by car.
When not exploring the area you can simply relax and enjoy the sunshine and scenery whilst sitting by our beautiful swimming pool surrounded by lavender plants.

Your host

My husband, Simon and I have recently spent 2 years renovating our house and gite in France. This is the fifth summer that are offering our property to guests to enjoy a relaxing holiday in rural France. We now spend 10 months of the year in France and the other 2 in the UK. We look forward to welcoming guests to the gite from 25 May 2024

Why they chose this property

Our house has been renovated to a high standard whilst maintaining lots of the original characteristics. Although it is is a rural location surrounded by trees, it is only 3km from the pretty town of Montignac. We love living in this area - the Vezere Valley - which we find does not get so busy as the Dordogne Valley but still has lots to do. The Dordogne Valley and all its activities and attractions is less than 1 hour from Le Sorbier. The weather is good in this part of France with long, hot summers and short, cold winters
