COMFORTABLE COSY 3 BEDROOMED COTTAGE IN COUNTY SLIGO
This comfy, cosy, cottage with stunning views of Ben Bulben and the Ox Mountains has everything you need and lots for everyone to do. Dunmoran Beach only 5 minutes away is ideal for swimming, surfing, fishing, kayaking. Walk along its white sandy beach and at the other end, is the atmospheric thatched Beach Bar: great for a pint, a meal or late night music. Also within easy reach is an 18 holes links golf course, several riding stables and more trails than you'll ever manage to walk. If it's history you're after, there are numerous megalithic sites dotted in and around county Sligo as well as a thriving music and cultural scene for those interested in the arts. As for good food and drink, there are no end of restaurants and pubs to choose from.
But, if it's a quiet night in you're after - Rose Cottage will not disappoint. This spacious cottage with its 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (one en-suite) has a comfortable sitting room with a wood burning stove, oil central heating, internet and CD player. A big airy kitchen with a real fire it has all mod cons including a new double oven as well as board games and somebooks. Close by is a children's playground, a running track and a weekly country market. Sligo is only 20 minutes away, Knock Airport, 40 minutes whilst Dublin is approximately two and half hours.

About the host
Hosted by mary mckeone
I grew up in the North of Ireland but my parents moved to Sligo over twenty five years ago. I fell in love with this area and we bought our house in 2008. For some of the year we live in Manchester, the rest we spend in Skreen. It is a wonderful area with something for everyone. People are incredibly friendly, helpful all of which contributes to the area's beauty.
Why they chose this property
Rose Cottage is a cosy and comfortable cottage without being ostentatious. It is very roomy inside: big kitchen with mountain views from both sides, a spacious hallway (great for kids to play in) a cosy kitchen and bedrooms which have a peaceful ambiance. Outside there is a big garden with views of the Ox Mountains at the back and Ben Bulben and Knocknarae.
What makes this property unique
This area is incredible. There is Strandhill, a lively seaside place, famous for surfing and seaweed baths,. There is Lisaddell, a place of stunning beauty, where Yeats visited the Gore Booths, there is a Links golf course at Rosses Point and Strandhill, there are endless places to swim, fish, canoe, kayak, surf, waterski. Numerous mountains to climb, if so inclined. Great restaurants in Sligo and Ballina (county Mayo) and a thriving music and cultural scene in Sligo. Sligo was voted the top holiday destination in Ireland in 2014. It is a place worth visiting and Rose Cottage in Skreen, a place worth staying at, for a holiday you will remember.
