Nice house in peaceful vacation community with short walk to beach
My wife and I stayed at this property for 3 nights in June 2023 when traveling along the southwest coast of Jutland. We were looking for a house nestled in the dunes with a short walk over the dunes to the beach, and a short walk to a village center where food and coffee were available. This house was reasonable in that respect -- no beach view, but a short walk to get there (10 mins). The house is elevated with a lot of porch space to give some nice views of the dunes and other houses. It was a bit farther walk to get to shops at Rindy Strand (about 25 minutes) -- much better if you have bikes. Fanø Cykler was very helpful with bike rentals. The house itself had a nice bright and clean combined living/dining area, with a decent kitchen and bathroom. The three bedrooms were small, but perfectly fine for several couples or a family with children. We enjoyed the porches/decks as well as the living area. Fanø itself was great: peaceful, super for bike-riding, and enjoying all the wind-related activities on the beach (kite-buggies, kite festival). It was fun to drive our car and bikes on the beach. The DanCenter check-in went smoothly (they were closed on Weds, the day we arrived so we just picked up keys and instructions in the Dan Center key box). We order the linens; they were left at the house. Checkout was quick and easy. If we returned, I would consider a DanCenter property again, although I might prefer something closer to the beach.
