Properties of this quality and specification in such an exceptional location are rare indeed. Recently renovated to the highest of standards, it is a great privilege to include this magnificent town house in our Mallorca portfolio. For several generations the home of a much-respected local family, Ca’n Torres nestles in a typical, narrow backstreet of atmospheric Pollença within easy walking distance of all amenities including the celebrated central square and some of the island’s finest restaurants.
Externally, and unchanged for nearly a century, the flat, typically Mallorcan façade of the house gives little clue to the remarkable interior which lies behind.

As you step from the lane directly into the entrance hall, it is nothing short of a revelation to see the care and attention to detail invested in the property during what has been a painstakingly comprehensive refurbishment personally carried out by the owner and the many talented craftsmen within her own family.

Bringing the property firmly into the 21st Century, whilst at the same time fully respecting the authentic charm inherent in such an historic building, is a difficult balancing act but one which, in this case, has been accomplished with aplomb.

From the hallway, sliding doors beckon you through to the body of the house and into a spacious living/dining room made bright and welcoming by the glass-panelled, Andaluz-style patio to one side. At the far end, the kitchen/breakfast room is another large, airy space all the more inviting for the two sets of patio doors that lead directly out to the poolside terrace.

Alongside the in-built barbecue is a covered patio for outdoor dining with the remaining area left open to provide a generous sunbathing terrace. From the private pool and first floor there are impressive views across the rooftops to the picturesque Puig de Maria, verdant Colonya Valley and craggy foothills of the famous Tramuntana mountains.

With three on the first floor and one on the ground floor the bedroom distribution at Ca’n Torres lends itself particularly well to sharing parties and larger families. Each of the four bedrooms is a very good size, individually air conditioned and has its own shower or bathroom facilities. Wherever you are in this lovely house the furnishings, fabrics, décor and atmosphere are all hard to fault.

As one of the Mediterranean’s most fêted, iconic and vibrant Roman towns, Pollença may need little introduction. Wonderful sandy beaches as well as various walking and cycling trails are all within a 15 minute drive while, conveniently ‘on the doorstep’, are all the facilities one could reasonably need to enjoy a relaxing holiday including a fresh bakery (200m),a grocer and butcher (300m) and a local restaurant serving an excellent value ‘menu del día’ (300m).

Fringed by bars, restaurants and focal point of the raucous Moors and Christians celebrations in early August - one of the highlights of the cultural calendar - the town square is only a five minute walk while the old cloisters, home to world class performers during the annual music festival are just 10 minutes.

All in all, Ca’n Torres is a comfortable and convenient oasis offering visitors the perfect opportunity to immerse themselves in the very best of island life.
