About this property
Converted Stables at Peaceful Family Farm Stay
Summary:
Tucked away at the end of a peaceful lane in Lawrenny, this two-bedroom converted stable, hosted by Salt and City Stays, offers a tranquil retreat in rural Pembrokeshire. Surrounded by serene woodlands, scenic trails, and close to the Pembrokeshire Coast Path and Cleddau Estuary, The Stables provides a perfect base to explore the stunning countryside, rivers, and coastline. It’s the ideal spot to relax and immerse yourself in nature’s beauty.
The Space:
The Stables provides a perfect one-level home for families and friends, with a modern finish and a warm, cosy feel.
The well-equipped kitchen has everything you need to rustle up a family meal to enjoy at the dining table in the living room. It also includes a double air fryer, making it easy to prepare quick and delicious meals. Enjoy a morning coffee sitting at the breakfast bar while looking out at the mature gardens.
The living room offers plenty of seating for all guests, with an electric fire and a wall-mounted flat-screen TV. With plenty of natural light provided by the French doors, which lead to a private patio and garden, the space has a wonderful indoor-outdoor feel.
At the far end of The Stables you'll find both bedrooms, each with comfortable beds—a king-size bed in the master bedroom and a double bed in the second bedroom. Both bedrooms offer plenty of storage, with wardrobes or chest of drawers in each.
Benefiting from 1.5 bathrooms, the main bathroom features a powerful walk-in shower, while a convenient cloakroom is located just off the living space.
Completing the property is a sizeable utility room with direct access for washing off after a muddy adventure. This access also leads to a second patio space, which is a peaceful sun trap throughout the year.
A private garden at the front of the property offers a secluded area for enjoying the countryside and local wildlife and is equipped with an outdoor dining area and BBQ. Parking is also available at the front of the property, with space for two cars.
A small trundle bed is available on request.
Guest Access:
Guests have exclusive and private use of the listing during their stay
The Neighborhood:
There's plenty to explore on foot, with walkways and footpaths directly from the property. Trails lead wind their way through ancient oak woodland and to the Cleddau Estuary, where Woodpeckers, Kingfishers and Herons are common sightings.
The Stables is also ideally located to make the most of the local attractions such as Bluestone Resort, Manor Park Wildlife Park, The Dinosaur Park, Wild Lakes and Heatherton Adventure Park. A short drive would take you to the coast with Tenby, Saundersfoot and Freshwater being popular destinations.
Getting Around:
You will preferably need a car to make the most of your stay in Pembrokeshire. Whilst there's plenty of stunning places to walk to from The Stables, we're not on any public transport routes. There's plenty of secure storage for bikes, and we're always happy to recommend routes or trails. We're a short ride from the Ironman Wales bike route with its challenging hills and stunning coastal views.

Enjoyed our stay and peaceful location of the cottage. Facilities, apart from BBQ, were as listed. This was rectified asap. Reason for lower overall rating is that listing stated enclosed secure garden for children and dogs. There is no gate securing the drive and a small area of missing fence to the side of entrance. This meant that with 2 dogs and a three year old, we could not leave the cottage door open to the garden, unless one of us was present in the garden. Minor issues included TP link extenders for the bedrooms not connected to internet and single bedroom door hooks loose/not being able to shut door.
Care has obviously been taken to present nice touches with the cottage’s decor. Beds were very comfortable; shower pressure and hot water good (but do not run water anywhere else at the same time as showering). There were sufficient cleaning products provided and a welcome surprise of welsh cakes and a bottle of wine - thank you!
Would we recommend, absolutely yes if you are adults, without dogs and young children but I am afraid for us it just fell short.
