The house was just fine, it was as expected. There was not a lot of kids around but I enjoyed that. The only thing I found missing for my stay to have been better would have been a hot tub. The house was close to Publix and the dock where our boat for the fishing trip left from was across the bay.
We pulled in and immediately liked the home, felt like a cottage with the full wrap around porch. Inside was comfortable and very well stocked, more so than most rentals. Other condos close by but still felt very private. Loved watching boats and barges going down the waterway. Nothing was lacking, we enjoyed our 9-10 day stay immensely.
I just had the astonishing pleasure of staying at Saufley House. I can’t recommend this gem highly enough! This is a slice of “Real Florida” surrounded by nature and convenience that allowed us to blend work, relaxation, and inspiration into a moment we never wanted to end. What makes this place extraordinary is its location right on the intracoastal waterway with its own private beach. The wrap-around porch gave us the perfect spot to unwind after a work-day or soak in the sunset with our chihuahuas. It’s rare to find a place that feels secluded and alive with natural beauty while also being conveniently located. My wife and I needed a space that could support both our professional lives and our need for rejuvenation, and this house delivered. The layout and peaceful ambiance made it a breeze to set up an artist’s studio for my wife and a quiet place for my virtual psychotherapy sessions. We’d work in the mornings, surrounded by blue bird songs, then step outside to recharge on the porch or stroll along our private beach. The convenience of nearby dog park, grocery stores, and restaurants with live music meant we could easily pop out for a meal or a night of fun. Several times we walked to these close by places. And being less than a 30 minute drive from downtown Pensacola allowed us to explore art galleries, “Paw-di-gras” Mardi Gras fest for dogs, entertainment, and history tours whenever we wanted. We left feeling refreshed, inspired, and already plotting our return.
House and location worked great for us. House was very nice and we enjoyed the porch immensely. The house sits by itself and is not a crowded area so we felt like we had our own space. We loved how the house was decorated and especially the plan. Perfect place for couples or small families
My family and I love coming to this property! It’s so nice to be able to relax by the water and watch my nieces look for hermit crabs and seashells. The weather was beautiful! It was a great weekend! If I could, I’d live here! 😃
The house was even better than expected. The location, the private beach, the wraparound porch-everything was just great. My family loved our visit and would stay here again.
This was our second time staying here, and it was just as magical as last year! We love everything about this property and Perdido Key! We stayed with small children, so the beach at the house is so perfect especially when the beaches are rough. The house is so comfy and the porch is heaven. We plan on staying again!
Not 5 star, but perfect for us, clean, everything we needed for cooking and cleaning up. Prefect little house for a couple, or small family. Karen was great to deal with and always fast to respond. I couldn't have asked for a more prefect place to stay for us. The location, the amenities, the host, all were great. Thanks for s great vacation
Where to start? We started off good, but about 4 days in we started to see cockroaches! Big ones little ones. I brought my own roach spray (as there were a few when we was here in May). I said nothing to owner, at first. Pest control was out 12 days into stay, for a routine visit. After that the roaches came out worse! Every night I'd find them in bathrooms crawling on walls floors...counter tops! So owner had pest control come out 2 more times, last time I saved some bugs to show him. Owner got defensive and not nice at all, asked why would I save them? I thought would help figure out and solve the bug issue. This owner emailed me said she's been accommodating to us send new appliances and have tv guy come and bug guy come...I have NEVER had such a nasty response from an owner of a property! I will never stay there again...couldn't sleep couldn't relax I had to constantly clean wash rugs...was a horrible stay!!!!! The walk way to the so called private beach is a joke! The "private beach" is also a joke...they do not keep the weeds down therefore you get sand spurs on you just going to your car. If you like sand spurs and cockroaches this is your place!
This is probably the best equipped rental I have ever stayed in because we brought a lot of stuff to cook with but didn't use any of it. The property is right in the middle of everything in Perdido minutes away from some very good places to eat. Its also very quiet on the backstreet with a very small amount of traffic. The intracoastal is very nice but the ants back there really hurt. Also be careful on the walkway going there I broke through a board and could have gotten hurt.
This was a great relaxing and peacfeful place to stay. There a huge wrap around porch. You can sit and eat at the table and watch the boats passing in the river. Johnsons beach is about a 3 minute drive or you can hang out at the private river beach where we fished and watched some spectacular sunsets. The decorations were cute and tasteful. Overall a great experience.
The only drawback for the property was the wooden walkway to the beach area. There are a few missing boards and multiple broken and weakened boards. You just have to watch where you walk. We had an issue with the TV’s at start of our vacation, but the property owner jumped right on it and had the cable company come out and resolve it. The property owner is WONDERFUL to deal with, she truly want’s everything about your vacation to be top notch. We had a wonderful vacation and made some great memories! Thank you Karen!!!!
We had an awesome week here! We enjoyed a walked every morning on this awesome street. The inter-coastal out back was a great place to watch boats. The house had everything we needed!
Was nice only couple steps up to wrap around porch!! Which is great since I had a knee replacement about year ago! Lots of places to sit on porch..a grill..a hose/shower. Was a couple bees...but did not bother us. The walk way was great to get to the little private beach. Probably the cleanest place we've ever stay! Lots of dishes..nice silverware, pots and pans. Silverware drawer was clean...there's a little coffee station we loved! Furniture was comfy, just wish bed was a tiny bit bigger, but we dealt with it. It's just a cute cozy place. The view watching the boats was wonderful...is private and quiet. Publix grocery is right across the bridge..gas station and a CVS. Only issues was the Smart tv...we are not tech savvy...couldn't figure things out so owner sent us a Cox cable tech. Cleared up all our confusion! Was super after that. There's a wooden box on porch with beach toys for kids if interested a couple chairs but they looked rough, we had our own. All in all we loved this little place we found, can't wait till Sept when we return, especially since my favorite place to go to is 5 miles down the road! (florabama) but you can also walk to Sunset Grille...there's Lillian's pizza bout a mi down road...and Perdido Sports Bar has music and good food! Wonderful house!! See you in Sept!!!
The Saufley House was a beach dream come true! It had every amenity we needed including plenty of space inside and out for a big family. The decor set the tone of a gorgeous beach cottage. The wrap around porch was pure bliss. The private beach was heaven. We played in the water, snorkeled, and saw so much wildlife and boats. It truly was one of the most magical experiences of our lives. We want to make this our family vacation house every year! Perdido Key is also the perfect, quiet beach vacation place…completely loved everything!
