Guisborough Forest, which is administered by Forest Enterprise, lies 2.5 miles away to the west and Nunthorpe to the east of the 2.5-mile stretch of the old railway line. Roseberry Topping may be seen to the south from here, and it serves as a gateway to the North York Moors National Park. Hanging Stone and Highcliff Nab are two of the most popular attractions in the area. Another nearby landmark is the Captain Cook 92s Memorial.
