"Beautiful, modern, and comfortable home that looks over Playa Matapalo and Playa Linda. Inspiring view of the Pacific Ocean. Infinity pool was fantastic, too. Tim and Ethna communicated with us readily and gave us many recommendations on tourist attractions, restaurants, and grocery stores. Josue, the house manager, was fantastic. Met us for check-in, drove us right to the house, and gave us a custom tour to make sure we were comfortable. Also, it was very responsive when we had any issues. A 4x4 is a must in order to get make the drive to the house."

Pura Vida Paradise!! Amazing house and surroundings - a peaceful retreat for our family to relax after an adventure outing each day. Loved breakfast on the patio and sunset swims. Quick and clear communication with the host and the on-site property manager. Highly recommend Uvita waterfall, surf school in Dominical, Nauyaca Falls, and all the local food and drinks. Our kids (ages 10 & 11) are already begging to return next year! Thank you for sharing this little slice of heaven!
A stunning property for our stay near Manuel Antonio with sweeping views of the ocean. It was the perfect location between Quepos and Ballena. My family loved the very well-equipped kitchen, fabulous pool, and lovely outdoor dinning and grilling area. The hosts really thought of everything, from the pool floats, to beach gear, yoga mats, games, and binoculars. We loved waking up to the birds each morning - experiencing our first set of parakeets, tucans, and a daily visit from the resident coati. And while we did not see any monkeys or sloths on property, we checked out the highly recommended Parcela restaurant with it's breathtaking views, and the trees were filled with monkeys at dusk.
This is a stunning home with unparalleled views surrounded by incredible wildlife. I absolutely loved when the daytime jungle went to bed and the nighttime jungle woke, and we made sure to wake up for sunrise to see the inverse, and that’s when the monkeys, coatis and toucans kicked off their days with us. The house was spotless, Amanda, our host was responsive, informative and extremely helpful. The house is off the beaten path. Needing a 4x4 is not over exaggerating, but this also adds to the experience. My only issue was not scheduling a longer stay. Thanks to Ethni, Tim and Amanda for a great stay

Thank you so much Colm, we are delighted to know that you loved your stay. Please plan to come back again very soon! Pura Vida.
This house, pool, and two-level deck were amazing for our family vacation to Costa Rica. It has the benefit of feeling isolated in the jungle but it is only a short drive to the beach, and to shopping in Dominical or Uvita. The kitchen is fully stocked—we even made fruit popsicles with the blender and popsicle molds, using the fruit provided. We saw many toucan, a few coati, beautiful butterflies around the pool, a macaw, tree frog, and an iguana. I would definitely stay here again. I appreciated having kids books, coloring books, and games for the kids. The road is very steep and takes a little getting used to. Even for people like us, who are used to gnarly dirt back roads of Colorado! There are two routes you can take to the house, which we were not aware of until the end of our trip when the paved road was closed for repairs.
We had a wonderful time during our stay in Matapalo!Eithne was a great host and the home was just what the doctor ordered! The home was well appointed with great quality goods. The kitchen was easily the best outfitted I’ve ever rented! As mentioned earlier, the driveway gets easier with practice, no sweat with 4 wheel drive. You will need the 4x4, makes it easy peasy. The house manager will guide you there the first time I almost forgot about the pool, very nice and well maintained. My advice is to stay here for a great view of nature and get a great house as a welcome benefit!
I don’t even know where to begin when describing how amazing this property is. It is literally on top of a mountain and has the most beautiful view of the rainforest and the ocean. We got up each morning and drink coffee to the sunrise and watched the birds. … it was pure Bliss. The host in property manager were so responsive to the point that we had a car trouble, and Help was sent very quickly!! we highly recommend this place and we’re so grateful we had the opportunity to visit and make memories here.
We stayed 11 days at this location to celebrate our 30th anniversary with family. The home provided privacy, stunning views/wildlife, lots of spaces to connect, relax and recharge. The drive to the home is an adventure and something we started to look forward to each time we left for an excursion, shopping or meal out. We spent alot of time in Dominical, playa Domincalito and Uvita. I highly recommend the snorkeling at Cano Island and trip to Nauyaca Waterfalls. One restaurant we loved was La Parcela - recommended by the host. Eithne and Amanda were very responsive to our questions and requests. We left knowing our group would try to figure out a way to get back to this home.

Thank you! Please do come back again soon! So glad you enjoyed the house and surroundings and beautiful Costa Rica.
We love the drive up too, it's fun!

If you're staying in the Playa Linda/Dominical area, look no further! This house is an absolute dream, and the photos simply do not do it justice—it is even more impressive in person. For anyone concerned about the road, yes, it is steep. We had a Kia Sportage AWD and had no issues at all, even in the rain. The road is gravel rather than mud so doubt you would ever get truely stuck. The steepest section is the short driveway into the property itself. It looks intimidating the first time, but after that it's easy (and actually quite fun!). Do not let this put you off renting this place. The hosts were incredibly responsive throughout our stay, as was the property manager. Their recommendations were spot on, and we'd strongly suggest following both their advice and the suggestions in the guest book. A special mention goes to La Parcela, which had the best views and some of the best food we experienced during our entire trip. The surrounding beaches are absolutely postcard-perfect and felt very safe. Playa Linda was one of our favourites. If you're there before 10am, there's a surf school tent just to the right of the entrance each day, which adds a nice atmosphere and makes the area feel less remote. Our favourite part of the stay was spending the evenings using the BBQ, listening to the sounds of the rainforest, and watching the wildlife. It was one of those experiences you'll remember long after you've returned home. Thank you, Tim and Ethna, for sharing such a special place

Wow … the view when you walk in the front door is incredible. This property is everything they say and more. Angela was super easy to contact and she would respond quickly. She even arranged a private chef to come to the house on short notice … the day after we arrived. Our meal with the private chef was delicious! Highly recommend it. There is A/C in every room making it nice for the bedrooms to be cooler if wanted. The infinitely pool is perfect. Lounge in the pool and take in the view is so relaxing. The road up to the property is as they say. You need a 4x4 for sure. Once you do it once, you get used to it.
This house is everything it is advertised to be and MORE. The view and amenities are incredible. You could easily come to this house for a week and never leave. The host left us fruit and wine upon arrival. The outdoor shower is LIFE changing! The driveway is NOT for the faint of heart, however, it is doable. If you are a cautious driver or do not have 4 wheel drive, do not attempt. The house has binoculars, games for kids, an awesome pool table, tons of wildlife, and even fruit in the yard. I would come back in a heartbeat. When it is for sale, let us know! Thank you for sharing this slice of heaven.
We had a fabulous stay at Ethna and Tim's place. I can't say enough about how beautiful their place is with it's gorgeous ocean views and an array of visitors that included a band of coati, toucans, hawks, and monkeys on our last morning there!
The property is exactly as advertised, stunning. Great location - situated between Quepos and Dominical. Our Host was wonderful and added so much to our experience. The reviews that mention the driveway are spot on, but all it takes is one or two successful trips and it is a snap after that.

Really enjoyed our stay. The outdoor space was amazing. The view was gorgeous. I personally loved all the wildlife ( butterfly’s, toucans, parrots, frogs, etc). Also, having AC inside was nice for sleeping. Overall great experience.

Thank you so much Caylyn. We are so happy you loved our space and your time in Costa Rica. Come back again soon! Pura Vida.
We actually came to Costa Rica for this house! I was just moving the map around on VRBO and happened upon it. I honestly didn’t know I was looking in Costa Rica when it popped up and CR was never really on my list of places to go. I was immediately drawn to it and was forming a plan as to how to get my husband on board. It was so easy, all I had to do was show him the pictures on the listing! It so did not disappoint, it was everything and a bag of chips (as we used to say back in the day). The photos in the listing were not modified in any way. Hard to believe, but it was even better in person. I am pretty sure this house will call to me until I make it back. I loved waking up at 5:00am every morning (and I am NOT a morning person) to listen to the quiet just before the animals starting their dawn musings. We did not see any monkeys on the property, but as others have mentioned, the resident Coati made a regular appearance; we saw an agouti, plenty of toucans, hummingbirds, lizards, butterflies, and parakeets. The parrots of the mountain have soooo much to say in the morning. It truly was heaven. Amanda was very good about keeping in touch with me as we drove in from SJO. My husband mocked me a bit on the way to the house because I kept telling him we that we needed to get there before sunset as everyone has said how “fun” the drive up to the house was. Let me tell you, he was VERY thankful we made it because it is very nerve racking the first couple of times. He did become
Great house. We were in the Osa for 3 weeks in 4 different houses in 4 different areas. We liked this house the best of the 4. It has the best outdoor space of any house that we have stayed in.

The house and property are amazing! Toucans and Parrots by the deck. We had a great time and the view is amazing. The owners and Amanda were responsive to every question and gave us advice on where to go and what to not miss. Matapalo is quieter and laid back and the traffic is much better. It’s central to Quepos and Dominical. Very convenient! So nice to have the boogie boards, soccer ball and ice chest for the beaches. Do Not forget your 4wd, it’s essential! 1st trip is a little overwhelming but after that it’s a breeze!
This place did not disappoint! Nestled in the jungle we enjoyed wildlife and incredible views from the pool and outside living areas. It was close to beaches and quaint little villages where you could gather all you need in terms of food and drink. While there was lots to do in the surrounding areas we actually enjoyed spending most of our time here. Trust me, rent the 4x4 and make the drive here, it’s worth it!
