A Grade II-listed Tudor property that`s brimming with charm and character, it`s perfect for couples or a small family wanting a quirky escape which is full of history.
The cottage dated back to 1400, it is furnished and styled to compliments its history with charm and character, a rare find and a true gem in this modern day.
On arriving at the cottage you`ll be struck by how cosy and inviting it is. The sitting room has a comfy sofa and armchair and a large and beautiful red brick fireplace . There`s a bay window where you can people-watch or close the pretty shutters for privacy. The simple décor highlights the original wood beams and you`ll discover some fun pictures dotted around. The lounge has a desk perfect for catching up on emails. A contemporary kitchen has been tastefully fused with the period charm of the place and is fully equipped with everything you`ll need to cook up a feast for two. Settle down to eat in the lounge with at the square wooden table with its wooden chairs. Everything about this place is cosy and intimate. In the basement area you will find a hidden spot for your laundry facilities. Upstairs the main bedroom has a king sized bed and a view right over the picturesque street below. The second bedroom has a single bed, clothes hanging space and chest drawers. The location is hard to beat in the heart of bustling picturesque market town with independent boutiques, an antique shop and quaint pubs, all within walking distance of the front door. If you’re feeling particularly active, there are fantastic walking and cycle trails in the Chiltern Hills and along the Thames path.
There is one bathroom located upstairs with a bath with a shower over the bath, basin and WC. Please note the bathroom has very low ceilings. Please note this property is located in the town centre, so some noise from the surrounding area may be expected.
There is no parking with the property but there are a few car parks nearby as well as free road parking within a 15 minute walk. Waitrose is free all-day Sunday and in the evenings. Such a special little quirky cottage and wonderfully placed in Central Henley, spitting distance from lovely pubs and restaurants and a short stroll to the river.
