10 day visit with teens
This trip was to re-live the childhood holidays that I had with my parents in the 60s/70s. We are grandparents of two teens and brought them along.
Booking and arrival process was smooth and efficient.
The apartment is upstairs with views to the front. It's exactly as in the pictures and new, clean and bright.
The beds are comfortable, the ensuite is small but does the job - maybe dfficult to access to someone on the larger side. Would have liked a TV in the main bedroom but we were very lucky with the weather so didn't really need it.
Lounge sofas very comfortable and there's everything in the kitchen you need.
It's a 10-15 min walk to Babbacombe sea front and a 5 min drive to Torquay harbour. Lots of cafes nearby but they do close early - supermarkets nearby are open late.
The cliff railway to Oddicombe beach still wasn't working but we did have the chance to go down there for an afternoon as a mini bus was provided by the cafe owners.
We visited Oddicombe beach, Ansteys Cove, Meadfoot beach and Torquay beach and Harbour. Maidencombe beach was a highlight along with the cafe and pub lunch (don't drive down if you're nervous!). The pub brought back great memories - The outside area is much bigger but the view is just as beautiful.
Cockington village was a must for me but did miss the horses. Shop keepers are so friendly and filled in some gaps in my memory. Thank you.
Overall a wonderful stay.
