Cosy 3 Bedroom Thatched Cottage in the Pewsey Vale
Alba Cottage, 26 Wilcot, is a charming, Grade II listed, 3 bedroom cottage in the picturesque village of Wilcot. Just redecorated, it has wooden beams and a warm and colourful interior.
3 minutes from Pewsey by car, or a 20 minute walk down the canal from the station. 10 minutes to Marlborough and 12 to Devizes.
The cottage is a short stroll from the picturesque Golden Swan pub and backs onto the village green, with a gate leading through to the playground/area on the green.
Nestled in the Pewsey Vale, with walks all around, the village of Wilcot is one of the prettiest in the area. Situated on the Kennet and Avon canal, the cricket pitch, village green, church and the pub provide a strong base for a vibrant and welcoming village life.
We lived there for many years and still come back to use the cottage as often as we can.

Thanks Marco. It was a real pleasure to host you and your family. If you are ever back in Marlborough/the Pewsey Vale, we'd be delighted to host you again.
Nice little cottage in a quire area. But the next pub is just one minute walk away. With everything you need inside and even a little garden in the back.
Property was accurately listed, clean and comfortable. We had a great stay and Mary was extremely easy and nice to communicate with.
I have no problem recommending this property to others.
This is the quintessential, charming English cottage in a gorgeous setting. A canal close by, beautiful walks and wildlife visiting the private garden! Mary made sure we had everything we needed.
We loved every minute of our stay.
The cottage is very comfortable and the village pub is very good. The location is excellent for visiting the whole of Pewsey Vale. Some details that are clear on other websites are missing on this website: very steep stairs, downstairs bathroom and that the third bedroom is only accessible from the main bedroom. These did not spoil our stay which we really enjoyed but might be issues for other groups.

Lovely cosy cottage. Well equipped. Host was readily avaliable for any queries. Would have been nice to have a visitors book with cottage info, eg about the heating, cooker instructions Locality info etc. Also we didnt know until we arrived what type of coffee machine they had. This meant we had to go out after arrival to buy coffee pods. Supplying coffee pods or putting the info the home description would have been appreciated. We did have another issue with the grill which had not been ckeaned properly snd sent greasy smoke out when turned on.
My family and I were very happy with our stay at this charming cottage. The host was very welcoming and unobtrusive. The house is comfortable, clean, very well equipped and full of character. The rear garden was also lovely. The location, in a small village, was perfect as a base for visiting Avebury, Stonehenge, Salisbury etc. The stairs are quite steep, and while not an issue for us, they might not be so not well suited to all guests.
This was a fantastic little place to get away from the city life for a little bit. My wife and I had just got married and had some friends over from the USA who are really into their British history. Staying in a thatched cottage in a quiet village in the middle of the countryside only 20 minutes from Avebury Henge was perfect for them! Had everything we needed, place was clean, host communication was fantastic. My only regret is that we didn’t stay longer!
