About a Salcombe holiday...
Salcombe is a historic fishing and sailing town that has become famous as a holiday destination because of its natural beauty and its local charm. Blessed with more beaches than you can visit in a week, a jaw-dropping estuary and magnificent walks along the South West Coast Path, it’s also filled with local traditions. For example, there’s the Town Regatta, excellent sailing opportunities, its own gin and ice cream factories. In fact, Island Square sits opposite Salcombe Gin Distillery, which has a bar overlooking the water serving gin cocktails as well as excellent coffees. You can’t leave without sampling the town’s unparalleled clotted cream fudge, visiting the magnificent bakery and restaurants such as Captain Flint’s and The Winking Prawn, which have practically become a rite of passage for visitors.
