The property was central in the town in walking distance to all amenities with stunning views over the estuary.
All rooms were clean and well maintained with a well appointed kitchen although we ate out all the time.
Would definitely book again recommend to others.
We really do love it here, the location is so good, and it has the most amazing views. Now we have 4 teenagers it's a bit more of a squeeze but it actually still works so well for us.
We loved the location and the views from the house are outstanding. Everything is clean and tidy with great communication from the hosts. The description is very accurate. Some reviews had worried me about the driveway but it’s very straightforward, just takes some extra care as you turn in.
A very good option for staying in central Salcombe with the added unusual bonus of being detached with off street parking. Ideal base for eating out and exploring the coast. Stayed as group of four adults for four nights.
Lovely house in a fantastic location with the best view in Salcombe! We had a lovely long Easter weekend in the sun. The house was very comfortable and well equipped.
The house is a lovely property consisting of all mod cons. It is in a spectacular location with breath taking views. It is very convenient for all shops, bars/restaurants and the ferry. Any person staying there would have no hesitation in staying there again.
We stayed 3 nights in Aug 2024, and would have happily stayed another 3 weeks. The property has parking that we were well directed to, on the check-in instructions, and is close enough to everything, without being “too” in the thick of it. The view from the sitting room is unrivaled, and where we spent most of our time. If I had any complaints, it would be that the TV is fussy, and there was no dish towel in the kitchen. Both small things that didn’t really impact our stay. We would happily stay at Orchid House again, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
This was our first visit to Orchid House, although we have stayed in Salcombe many times. The house has an amazing position overlooking the estuary, and we enjoyed the ever changing views, and the outside patio was always sheltered from the wind. We stayed as a couple and it was very comfortable for us, we would happily stay there again. Thank you for a great holiday!
Perfect location with a stunning view. 3 good size bathrooms. Fully equipped kitchen. 4eally good communication with owners. Our baby girl loved it. Would 1000% stay again!

Lovely family - best location
The views from the lounge & main bedroom make this property unique and it is in the best location, just a few minutes to the ferry, main street with shops & eating places, as well as the Harbour Hotel which is worth a visit for lunch or dinner. Property is comfortable & well maintained & owner (Heather) is great to deal with , always helpful, quick replies & return of deposit. Highly recommend - we have been twice already this year and will definitely go again. We discovered the Kingsbridge ferry for the first time in 20+ years what an absolute gem & it’s very under utilised, but it’s a lovely scenic trip down the estuary to Kingsbridge.

Fantastic location & views, best in Salcombe!
This house has a brilliant location in the centre of Salcombe on the lower road, with the most amazing views of the estuary opposite, that you would never get tired of. Getting up to the parking area is tight & a bit tricky, but once parked you don’t really need the car. Clearer instructions about which house it is once parked would be useful. House is clean & comfortable, although some of windows are difficult to open & storage heaters can be tricky to gauge to get the heating right, but these are minor things considering the views which are priceless. Overall, this is a brilliant property & we would definitely stay here again. Owners are very helpful & easy to deal with.
