About this property
Incredible mountain cottage for 4 with private hot tub with spectacular views
This stone built cottage is located within Coppermines Valley, Lake District and enjoys breath-taking views of the surrounding mountains. For those who love the countryside there is no better setting for your Lake District holiday.
Space and fresh air abounds with fells, crags, rivers, glistening mountain tarns and thundering waterfalls all to be found in the immediate surrounding area. The cottage itself offers spacious accommodation, being the largest dwelling on the end of a row of traditional miner's cottages as well as, unusually for the valley, its own terraced, private garden. The garden is home to the cottage's private hot tub with awe-inspiring views of Coniston Old Man.
Its cosy and characterful interior offers a comfortable place from which to enjoy the spectacular views encompassing the cottage. Some of the finest walking in the Lakes, including The Old Man of Coniston, can be done direct from your front door - simply lace up your boots and stride out into expansive and dramatic landscape. A walker's paradise! And with 2 bedrooms and 2 bath/shower rooms the cottage is perfect for couples, families or friends looking for a unique and truly special setting for their Lake District holiday.
Ground Floor
The main entrance to the cottage is at the rear of the cottage. On entering the cottage a useful utility room offers the perfect place to leave those muddy boots after a day's exploring.
Next is the the well-equipped and spacious kitchen which includes a range style cooker with electric hob, a large, American-style fridge freezer with ice dispenser, dishwasher, microwave, slow cooker and washing machine. A table with dining chairs for 4 complete this cottage kitchen/diner.
A sunny reading room is located at the front of the cottage and benefits from those incredible views across the valley - could there be a better place to sit back and relax after a days's exploring - we don't think so! A small study area (with a work-distracting view) completes the space. From the reading room a door leads to the main living area. The lounge could not be more welcoming, with traditional beams, copper kettles and a slate, flagstone floor as well as a large log-burning stove nestled within a stone-built hearth. This cosy room is like a friendly hug to those lucky enough to step inside. A Smart TV completes the room.
Completing the ground floor is a stylish & very spacious, tiled wet room with electric shower, underfloor heating, W.C. and sink.
First Floor
Stairs from the lounge lead up to the first floor landing. From here both of the double bedrooms can be accessed.
Bedroom 1 is accessed via another useful study area and is a double aspect room with the most incredible view! Wake up in the morning, look up to The Old Man of Coniston, and decide whether today is a day for adventure or whether today is a day for cosying up to the fire. The room features a king-size bed and en suite bathroom complete with bath (also with a view!) with shower over, W.C. and sink.
Bedroom 2 features a double bed, built-in wardrobe and enjoys beautiful views to the fells.
Outside
Accessed via the main entrance is the cottage garden. This generous and mature, terraced garden offers more of those amazing views while several seating areas provide perfect places for alfresco drinks. A perfectly-positioned hot tub, where you can soak up those fabulous views, whilst the bubbles ease your worries away completes this truly unique mountain garden.
Facilities included
Bed linen, towels, initial basket of logs, electric storage heating, Wi-Fi.
Secure cycle storage for up to 2 bikes.
Travelling with a dog?
The owners respectfully ask that dogs are permitted downstairs only.
