Nice lodge ideally located between Windermere and Ambleside

The lodge was clean inside, including bedding and towels. It was a little tired, with some maintenance needed, particularly in the bathroom. Unfortunately, the outside was very tired, the decking was dirty, cobwebby (not just recently, it hadn’t been cleaned for weeks) and very slippy. The gates to both the decking and the hot tub needed attention and there were holes in the panelling at the front of the lodge. Overall, we enjoyed our short stay, but expected a little more for the money we paid

Do not use Cumbrian Cottage Holidays.

Rubbish, steer clear. Don’t use Cumbrian Cottage holidays. Dirty, unkept, unusable, equipment not working. Need I say more.

We are very surprised to receive your 1 star review of your recent stay. As you are aware we did resolve all the issues you raised, including sending out our handman and cleaner who showed you how to work the hob which you informed us was not working, but you had not turned on at the wall. We offered to refund your holiday as you had indicated you wanted to go home when you were trying to get the hob to work. When I called you the following day and advised we could refund the remainder of your holiday if you still wanted to go home, you were surprised I had suggested it and said you wanted to stay but would leave a day early. On the Friday you called me and asked if you could stay a further night. I do feel if the lodge is 1 star, dirty and equipment not working etc you would have opted to go home early and not extend your holiday.
