We spent four wonderful days in this lovely house in the Lake District and absolutely loved our stay! Everything was great: the house was clean, cosy and with all the amenities we needed for a relaxing holiday. The location was perfect for exploring the area. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a nice place to stay in the centre of the Lake District.
Beautiful well-located cottage in a former priory. Access to a jetty on the shores of Lake Windermere via a steep private footpath, just 5 minutes walk. 1 mile gentle uphill walk into Windermere town. Many past visitors in the cottage guestbook seem to complain about traffic noise (property is about 30 metres from a busy roundabout) but we didn’t find it bothersome at all. Would recommend Priory Cottage and would absolutely stay again.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication
Lovely well equipped and modernised character property
Very comfort and well appointed. Would stay again and give 5 stars but for three negatives:
1. No wifi and 4g is really weak
2. It’s a hike into town
3. Most seriously the entrance / exit into a busy road is really quite dangerous. For safety you need a second person to stand in the road and stop traffic!
We had a wonderful stay at the Priory Lodge. The house is absolutely lovely and well-furnished. It was a perfect base for our wider adventures in the Lakes, but we also loved exploring the walks and lake near the house (including the 'private access to the Lake' mentioned in the listing, which is found by going down the road by the Priory Manor just past the Priory Lodge driveway). We didn't mind not having WiFi - we just brought lots of books, DVDs and games for the rainy days. As for the driveway being close to a busier roundabout, there's a section where you can pull aside and back into the driveway, which makes leaving the house much less daunting. Overall, we would highly recommend Priory Lodge!
