Comfortable First Floor Apartment

Brantfield House is a large Victorian house set in mature gardens in a quiet location overlooking the village of Bowness and Lake Windermere. The apartment is on the first floor at the front of the house, with beautifully proportioned rooms offering spectacular views of the lake and surrounding fells.


The apartment is continually being updated. All rooms are well furnished, spacious, light and airy. The apartment sleeps 4 in two bedrooms, the master bedroom has a kingsize bed and the second bedroom has twin beds. Each room has plentiful storage and the twin room has a TV, and PS3

The bathroom has a shower, toilet and wash basin. The kitchen has ample workspace and includes oven, hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, washer and dishwasher. The large lounge /dining room was recently redecorated and is comfortably furnished with leather settees and dining table set in the bay window. There is a TV with Freeview, Netflix and DVD player There is a selection of dvds, books and games. The apartment has free wifi access. This room has a bay window allowing spectacular views of Lake Windermere and the surrounding fells.

The house is set in a quiet location but only a short walk to the heart of Bowness

Beautiful property with stunning views

This was my third visit to Brantfield and as usual, the property was spotless with great amenities.The view of Lake Windermere is one of the outstanding features of the property.

Really lovely spacious apartment. Great views. Extremely well appointed and tastefully decorated, , we lacked for nothing. Comfortable and quiet, but only a short distance from the lovely hustle and bustle of Bowness. I particularly like the artworks on the wall, two of my favourite artists, so what more could we want? !! Will definitely return Thank you Christine

A great stay in Bowness-on-Windermere

Brantfield House is located high above Bowness—on Windermere and the views from the living area are spectacular. I received good instructions before arriving and had no problems checking in. The apartment has two good sized bedrooms, a well equipped kitchen and a good living / dining area. We could not have asked for more. Just be aware that it is a steep walk from the centre of town if you don’t have a car.

Best Views

Stayed with my mum and dad at Christine's place and was thoroughly impressed. Absolutely amazing view from the living room window. Loved eating meals there. Very tidy and homely. Well-stocked kitchen. Only downside was the hike up the hill! Only later did we realise there was an easier way up. Bowness is a lovely little town, very picturesque and lots of nice cafes and restaurants. Would definitely stay again if I come back!

Lovely bright ,clean with all the mod con and more .Excellent communication with the owner The view made up for that really steep climb to the flat..A word of advise try the bit gentlier climb up or down the road via Langrigge .road (believe me you knees will thank you lol )

Lake District Apartment

Great apartment very spacious just like home , sad we did not get to meet our hosts . Being international travellers we booked apartment as we had been cruising for a month & needed to do laundry . The washer did not work & took 5 hrs to do a load & iron broken , just little things but important . Could not contact owners they would not answer the door .

Stayed here for the second time and found it to be a perfect base for bowness and the lakes.Great communication from Christine the host prior to our stay to make check in nice and easy.Apartment has all the facilities that you need for your stay, spotlessly clean and a great location.Please note there is a steep road up to the property but what fantastic views that then provides.Have already booked again for next year.

Absolutely wonderful house. Views are beautiful, we loved it. However I do feel it’s important to mention that this house is on a very steep hill so would not suit wheelchair users or people who can’t walk well. It doesn’t state it anywhere on the description.

Calm and spacey apartment

Bedrooms and living room with a lot of space (we were 3 adults). The apartment is very calm (end of the road: no traffic) and has fantastic views from the dining table over the lake and mountains. Almost new bathroom, clean and very well working. Well equipped kitchen with all devices in good working conditions, only the frying pans are quite used up (coating)...We really enjoyed our stay and would come back for our next holidays in Lakeland.

Ideal spot

We loved our stay at this property. Great views, parking, space, responsive host, able to walk to the lake, everything we needed. Lovely decor and art work make it a very pleasant place to come "home" to after a day out and about.

Out of this world

Mind blowing accommodation, couldn't stop looking at the incredible lake views. Spotless property, so quiet and tranquil, listening to nature and with a short 5 minute walk to the centre. Perfect weather made the stay even more incredible.

Beautiful apartment

We had a great stay at this beautiful apartment it had everything we needed, it was spotless and a fantastic view, we have been to this area a few times now and I would definitely stay here again as couldn’t fault it, we both loved it. Lots of dvds to choose from if you’re just wanting a relaxing movie night in, it was like a home from home we loved everything about it. The views are amazing and it’s so quiet and only a short walk down hill to the town with loads of pubs & restaurants. I would recommend to book this apartment if available. Thank you to the host for letting stay in your great apartment x

Hiking holiday Lake District
