About this property
Yewdale Cottage, village home with mountain views
A modern terraced property, found in a quiet cul de sac, centrally located in the village of Coniston. This charming cottage is ideally situated to enjoy all the delights the village has to offer including tearooms, shops, pubs and restaurants.
Lovers of all things 'outdoor' will delight in the abundance of footpaths and cycle ways that are immediately accessible, leading down to the lake, into the forests or up onto the fells. Your car can easily be left in the private parking space for the duration of your stay, allowing you to explore the local area on foot or two wheels etc.
Lovingly refurbished by the owners, care and attention to detail is apparent throughout this lovely little cottage. Comfortable, welcoming and ever so stylish, this really is a true 'home from home'. Once visited never forgotten. Its hidden gem really has to be the rear cottage garden, an idyllic haven, offering open views across fields to the Yewdale Crags beyond, hence the name.
In essence Yewdale Cottage is perfect for couples, friends and young families alike.
Ground floor
As you come in the front door, there's a small slate-floored hallway that leads you into the living room. Two comfortable double settees surround a working log burner, perfect for cuddling up in front of. Of course there's a TV and DVD player for evenings or keeping young children entertained along with Wi-Fi for those who want to stay connected. Herdwick sheep and Lakeland views adorn the walls in case you'd forgotten where you are!
Moving to the back of the house takes you into the contemporary kitchen/dining area with electric hob and oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer & microwave. There's a good sized wooden dining table and probably the best view to do the washing up too!
First floor
Upstairs there are two lovely bedrooms & bathrooms, the twin room has fell views, even from bed. What a great way to wake up!
Bedroom 1 - double bed and en-suite shower room.
Bedroom 2 - twin single beds & fell views.
Bathroom with bath, shower over & WC.
Outside
Outside, there's a small gravelled garden with a stunning view to Long Crag: complete with garden furniture this is a great spot to enjoy al fresco dining or a barbecue (there's one provided). There's even a tiny babbling stream to add that special calming ambience.
To the front there's a small gravelled front garden with shrubs & garden bench, a great place for sitting down with a morning coffee and watching the world pass by.
