The topography of Agaete is, in general, very abrupt. Three main basins stand out: El Risco, Guayedra and Agaete, reaching a maximum altitude of 1,180 metres in the summit area of the Pinar de Tamadaba.The Tamadaba Natural Park is a protected area, and contains the largest pine forest in Gran Canaria. Towards the sea, the massif descends steep slopes, steep ravines and steep cliffs, creating a landscape of great beauty, where the impressive Roque Faneque stands out, whose 1,008 metres drop vertically into the sea and is considered to be one of the highest active cliffs in the world. In Puerto de Las Nieves, you can see the Roque Partido or Dedo Dios, another symbol for the Canary Islanders. The Roque Partido is a rock formation that has taken the shape of a hand due to erosion.Agaete is also home to some of the most popular natural pools and beaches in the north of the island.
