Large lawned garden terrace with garden furniture (shared). Bike store. Private parking for 1 car. 1 large or 2 small dogs welcome, to be kept on a lead at all times. No smoking or e-cigarettes. Please note: No children under 8 years. This property has a security deposit of £100.. Set on a hillside, this 17th century rural retreat is the perfect cottage to enjoy a special break away nestled in the beautiful Peak District. Attached to a stone barn on the owners’ non-working farm, this is a picture postcard retreat just waiting to be enjoyed. A charming living area with beams and a wood burner, creating a warm and inviting space to relax and unwind. Enjoy a hearty breakfast whilst taking in the moorland and valley views from the dining table. A great way to start the day. Those with their four-legged friend in tow can make good use of the fenced 100-yard dog walk. The owners can even provide a day kennel, or an indoor crate can be provided for smaller dogs (by prior arrangement). The shared lawned garden and terrace makes for a beautiful space to enjoy a relaxing drink whilst taking in the wonderful surroundings, and the garden is lit partially at night.
Adjacent lies National Trust land with miles of walks which unfold from the door. There is a pub serving food just ½ mile and a variety of shops, pubs and restaurants available in the village of Hope, just 1 mile. The market town of Bakewell and Buxton is 12 miles, offering everything from puddings to thermal springs, and a wealth of good walks and beautiful scenery along the way. The well-known Blue John Caverns and the historical houses of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall are also easily accessible.
For those searching for some outdoor adventure of a different kind then you could hire a bike from Derwent Valley Cycle Hire, just 5 miles away. Take to the saddle and go cross country, or for the more adventurous some white-knuckle downhills may just be on the menu. Mam Tor, Peveril Castle at Castleton, golf, fishing and cycle trails are all available locally.
