It was hard for me to figure out how many stars to give this place, so I'm splitting the difference and going with three. On one hand, the price is very reasonable and the location is fantastic. It's right on the Corredor Gastronómico de Mérida, so there are tons of great restaurants and bars right outside the door. It's also just a few blocks from Paseo de Mantejo, one of the main avenues in Mérida that's a popular destination for walking. And it's not far from La Plaza Grande. The whole area is great for walking around. So you really couldn't ask for a better location.However, that's also the main issue I had with this apartment. It's right above a bar/restaurant that plays VERY loud music (both live and prerecorded) in the back patio every night until at least 1am and often later. That was fun for one night. After that it gets rather annoying, and after a few nights I had to move to a hotel because I couldn't tolerate being in party central every night and not being able to sleep. So be forewarned, the location is both its biggest asset and biggest drawback.The apartment itself is okay. Generally functional, pretty middle-of-the-road Mexico style, although the hot water in the shower is not particularly robust. It's not nearly as nice as the pictures would lead you to believe. But if you don't need anything fancy, it'll be fine. As long as you like living directly above a very loud bar.

A fun funky cute casa right in the heart of Merida! Walking distance to tons of places..,museums, galleries, restaurants and shops! Casa Matisse was great! Also got to hang out at Casa Marian……we could say the same thing about that little casa too! Daniela was awesome to work with in all of our lodging planning. Muchos gracias Daniela.
