Bathroom: Bath With Shower Over, Toilet. Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi, and logs for open fire included.. Enclosed lawned garden with patio and garden furniture. Private parking for 1 car. No smoking.. This delightful detached cottage is the perfect rural retreat for up to three guests. Well presented, warm and cosy throughout with the added benefit of an open fire, the property enjoys lovely rural views. Set on a sheep and dairy farm, this is a superb base from which to explore the region. The nearby town of Thornhill, just 4 miles away, is a hub of activity with its boutique shops and beautiful tree-lined streets. Drumlanrig Castle, 5 miles, one of Scotland’s grandest Renaissance buildings, is the venue for many events throughout the year. The bicycle was invented in the tiny hamlet of Keir Mill and this is one of the best places to cycle in the UK with the internationally recognised 7Stanes and the KM bike trail nearby. The gorgeous beaches of the Solway coast can be reached by car in only 40 minutes, ideal for a picnic in secluded sandy bays. Explore further along the coast to Castle Douglas Food Town, Cream O’ Galloway, Wigtown Book Festival or take the craft routes during Spring Fling. There are many historic houses and gardens to enjoy in the area and the Galloway Forest Park is famed for its ‘Dark Sky’. Shop, pub and restaurant 3 miles.
