All crockery, cutlery, pans, etc needed washing before use - in bathroom, because there was no sink in kitchen. Air fryer (which we didn’t use) was filthy. Felt like camping, cooking on 2 ring grill & washing up in bathroom.Don’t think any hoovering had been done all year looking at carpet in living room. Bathroom walls around bath also dirty.Could be a lovely property, if updated & cleaned. In perfect location in lovely area.

I am suprised at these comments as the guests seemed content. There is a dishwasher available . All the carpets are vaccumed between lets . No other guest has said crockery and cutlery were not clean . Or the airfryer. It is clear on the website what kitchen facilities there are.

Our visit to Scalby

We enjoyed our visit and parking was easy-Scalby is a lovely village with many great walks around the area including Broxa Forest and into Scarborough along the North coast-the accommodation is certainly a throwback to the 60's/70's and not everybody's cup of tea but it is very well equipped including a washing machine handy after a day's walking-the lounge was very spacious and the bed was so comfortable-furthermore communication with Simon was excellent-overall it has great charm and worth a stay as it is good value for money
