Renovated to an exceptionally high standard, with a touch of luxury, you are welcomed on an authentic and truly unique stay in the heart of Northumberland. Embrace the heritage of this atmospheric town, which has changed very little over the years, with cobbled roads and characterful buildings. There is an array of independent shops and cafés to explore, as well as ancient pubs where it almost feels like you are stepping back in time. Alnwick is in the centre of Northumberland, surrounded by the beautiful countryside as well as being only 5 miles from the heritage coastline.

Tastefully furnished throughout, you will see the age of the property as you step into the living room with a beamed ceiling and other charming features such as the original exposed brick and stone fireplace. The colonial stove has double doors opening to reveal the open flames, bathing the room in heat as well as a warm atmospheric glow in the evening. Stepping through into the open plan kitchen and dining area, you have all the benefits of a well-equipped fitted kitchen, complete with breakfast bar.

Outside at the rear of the property you have a drying room, perfect for storing muddy walking boots and coats. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, both have zip and link single beds which can be made up as super kings on request, making this property flexible for friends and families as well as couples travelling together.

There is a wide array of amenities on your doorstep including a cinema/playhouse, restaurants, shops, galleries and a museum. Alnwick Castle, the film location for Hogwarts in Harry Potter as well as featuring in Downton Abbey, with over 950 years of history is a must, or visit the Alnwick Gardens, a spectacular 12-acre visitor attraction, including a grand cascade waterfall and poison garden. Visitors can also dine in the restaurant of the largest tree house in Europe. You are also in the perfect position for those seeking a unique base that gives easy access to explore the beautiful 20 mile stretch of Heritage Coastline, designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty to the east and the wild and lonely expanses of the heather-capped Cheviot Hills to the west.

One or more beds can be linked to form double or twin beds (please advise the owner of your preference soon after booking).
