Amazing stay!

Highly recommend The Sandpiper. As a family of 4, we thoroughly enjoyed our restful stay. Beautiful shepherd’s hut, with lots of thoughtful details and very relaxing! Powerful shower, cosy accommodation and enclosed garden so children / dogs can explore safely. Beautiful views overlooking the fields and sea. Good location to explore the Northumberland coast. We’ll be back!

2 night stay in the sandpiper

Decent location and nice setup, great spot for dogs, but a few things let it down. The hut looked good at first glance, but cleanliness wasn’t great — cobwebs around the place and a bit dusty. The fire pit and pizza oven hadn’t been cleaned out, which was disappointing. Hardly any plug sockets too. Fine for a night or two, but not great value for the price.

Such a lovely place to stay with all the amenities you need. Ideal for the dog as he is safe and secure. We stayed last year and again it didn’t disappoint.

Sandpiper

A new experience for us and enjoyable. We loved the hot tub; very easy to heat and operate. The facilities were clean, good having a full bathroom and kitchen equipment and utensils plentiful. The steps into the hut and the height of the bed could be a challenge to those less mobile.

Fantastic stay

We had a brilliant weekend staying at the Sandpiper- really well equipped and cosy. Hot tub was a great hit too! Excellent customer service- my son left his Apple Pencil and they were brilliant finding it and sending it back. I would highly recommend.

Perfect place for total relaxation

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Sandpiper. The bed is so comfortable we had the best night's sleep, under the stars, thanks to the glass ceiling. Lovely hot shower and cosy log burner, not to mention the wood fired hot tub to ease the musclesafter long walks on Beadnell Beach. Lots of local places to eat and drink. The perfect place for total relaxation.

Absolutely fantastic!

I almost don't want to say how good this place is because I want to keep it to myself! The Sandpiper is a wonderful shepherd's cabin that sleeps 4 people. It far exceeded our expectations. The location was perfect, ample room at the site and very private, despite being on the 'main road' going into Beadnell - it really wasn't an issue. The wood fired hot tub was lush and we enjoyed it looking out to the sea. The cabin has a powerful shower. A larder fridge in the shed and ample kitchenware meant we could cook and feed ourselves way beyond what I expected of 'glamping'. We watched the stars from the skylight through the overhanging trees. We cooked pizza in the bbq. Samantha it was wonderful and I will sing it's praises for a long time! I really hope to visit again.

Great little break.

We had a lovely stay at the Sandpiper. The hut was great and had everything you could possibly need. The hot tub was wonderful and was brilliant for relaxing with a drink enjoying the view. It also has a very good sized secure garden which our dog and young child loved. It's located in a beautiful area with plenty to see and do! We did have a problem with the glass roof leaking over the bed one night due to some very heavy rain which wasn't ideal however we didn't let it dampen our spirits and the owners were very helpful and quick to try and sort it. Overall it was a relaxing little break away from reality.

Amazing stay!

We had a a fantastic stay at The Sandpiper! The host provided a really useful brochure detailing the accommodation and surrounding area before we arrived. This contained all the information we needed for our stay. The accommodation itself was really well planned out and felt spacious despite its size. It was also really well equipped. The stargazing roof was amazing and we were so lucky to have clear skies while we were there. One thing to note is that the accommodation is just off a main road. This was no issue to us as at this time of the year we didn’t use the outdoor space much, apart from the hot tub on an evening. Also, the views across towards Beadnell were amazing so more than made up for any traffic noise.

Holiday with friends

Loved the shepherds hut. It’s a small space for such a long stay though so bear that in mind. The only thing missing was a comfy chair to lounge on and somewhere to hang clothes. The bed was super comfy. The wood fired hot tub is great Would recommended to anyone for a long weekend / couple of nights stay. Beadnell is a great place with wonderful beach and pubs

Our stay

This place is gorgeous and we loved our time here. Couple of small things nothing major but just to let you know for future bookings. Main door was very stubborn to open and close. Coffee jar was almost empty and coffee was hard so not been change for a while and we didnt have coal for the fire pit let out or in the shed that was also hard to open and close. Thought it was slightly further from the road fir noise This place is fabulous and I would definitely recommend and come back to stay great service beautiful comfy beds and the stargazing was spectacular. Communication was brilliant with an early check in. Loved all the little touches. Amazing place close to everything ✨️ magical

Nice stay in Northumberland

It was really a great experience, first of all the bath tub after a long walk on the beach. When we arrived crockery and cutlery was not really clean so I had to everything before use. After this, everything was OK. It is amazing what you can squeeze in such a tiny kitchen. But it works, the bed is glorious, and the shower wonderful. We will come back!

A perfect place

Had a lovely stay in Sanderling with family staying in Sandpiper too. The huts are comfortable and well equipped. The children loved the hot tub and playing in enclosed garden with dogs. Very different and very special ❤️ Beadnell a short walk away had lovely pub The Craster Arms which is dog friendly and coffee shops plus a stunning beach. Would love to return .

A quirky lodge, perfect in every way

We stayed here as a family of three and a dog for 2 nights. It was perfectly sized for us. The accommodation was clean and well stocked. The hot tub was perfect and instructions were clear. I have never slept in a bed so comfortable! Well placed for beadnell and exploring the Northumberland countryside. We will be hurrying back!

Perfect relaxing break in Northumberland

Stayed with my wife and 10 year old daughter, Sandpiper was perfect for a 3 night stay. Really cosy but plenty of room in the shepherds hut. Stargazing through the glass ceiling with our daughter at night after pizzas on the log fired oven and a hot tub a total highlight. Great memories. Seemed to have everything we needed, big comfy bed, cosy log burner inside when the weather got colder on the last night. Beautiful views our over the fields to the coast and Beadnell Bay. Short walk into the village to a couple of good pubs and close to the beach so location is great too. Only thing is the road that runs in front of the huts, it's quite busy during the day but traffic calms down in the evening so does get more peaceful.

Another fab stay

It's our 3rd time at the Sandpiper, we love the location and use it as a base to explore the north east coastline. We love using the wood fired hot-tub and our dog loves lying on the grass area outside the hut. highly recommended place to stay, we will be back.

Not quite what we expected

First feeling when we pulled up was that the location was not going to be the peaceful setting we were expecting from the description. Granted it has beautiful views out across the bay but the hut is alongside the main road into Beadnell. The road is in between the hut & the view but not shown in any photograph. Whilst we are not talking M1 traffic volumes, cars are up & down the road, some at speed, most of the time, so sitting outside wasn’t exactly tranquil. The hut is well equipped with clean linen & towels plus it has a fantastic shower! We never intended to cook every meal in there as we were keen to try out restaurants in the area but was disappointed to find on our first evening, that some of the pans & glasses had been left dirty with food stuck on them so & clearly not cleaned/checked by anyone before we checked in. So our first job was to wash up what we needed to use. The floor around the log burner & under the bed were both very dusty with ‘fluff’ collected at the foot end of the bed where the table adjoins it. Having stayed in several shepherd’s huts before, we fully appreciate that we were in effect camping so not to expect 5*hotel accommodation standards of cleanliness as technically, we were staying outdoors but surely you should get basic cleanliness, particularly pots & pans? We had a very enjoyable few days in Beadnell but we spent a lot of time out & about more than we had intended to do, rather than spending more time enjoying the features of the hut we’d paid for, purely due to its location. Sorry but not our idea of a peaceful location.

Perfect place to switch off

Perfect place to get away and switch off. The hut provides everything you need for a relaxing stay. Lovely comfy beds and cosy fire. Would love to come again in the summer and make the most of the fire pit and BBQ. Some dirty cutlery in the drawer and the bedspread was torn, otherwise couldn’t fault it. Loved our stay ❤️Prosecco and chocolate were a thoughtful touch.

Lovely hut. Clean and done out very nice it’s not basic at all like other shepherd huts . Everything you need is provided and thought of . Hot tub was great and enclosed garden for the dog . 10 mins walk to beadnell and another 5 mins to beach . Great value for money . Comfy bed . On a busy main road however there is a path all the way into beadnell so was no problem. Glass star gazing roof was wonderful. Had a great stay and will definitely be going back !

Spot on!

Everything was thought of to make the stay comfortable and plenty of info in advance to prepare- so were able to take suitable food for the facilities. Spotless and comfortable- couldn’t have asked for any more. Thank you so much for making it so lovely!
