About this property

Braunston Manor Cottage: 4-poster beds & ensuites

The 17th century detached cottage is part of the manor house in the historic village of Braunston. The cottage has two double bedrooms each having a four poster bed and a private ensuite bathroom.

The village of Braunston is famous for its canals and it has a marina, canal pubs, local convenience store, chip shop and a superb butchers along with many picturesque local walks. It provides a convenient base for visiting Stratford, Warwick, Silverstone and the Midlands in general.

The space :
Braunston Manor Cottage is a detached two storey property, with a kitchen and sitting room on the ground floor and two double bedrooms on the first floor.

In detail :

Kitchen – Fully fitted modern kitchen with dishwasher, electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine/tumble dryer, as well as a large range of cooking utensils. The kitchen table provides comfortable dining for four.

Sitting room – Two large sofas, together with a modern electric fire-effect stove and subtle side lighting gives an instant feeling of cosiness on a cold night. The 50” smart TV has built-in Chromecast as well as movie subscriptions for Netflix and Amazon Prime.

Bedroom 1 – king-size four poster bed, a chest of drawers and an ensuite bathroom. The bathroom has a toilet, washbasin and bath with over-bath shower attachment. At the end of this bedroom, there is an amazing ancient large chimney stack that implies that maybe the cottage was once upon a time utilised as a forge, or as the main kitchen for the Manor house.

Bedroom 2 – double four poster bed, a chest of drawers, a wardrobe and an ensuite bathroom. The bathroom has a toilet, washbasin and bath with over-bath shower attachment.

General facilities:

Central heating and hot water is provided by a modern combi-boiler. Free Wi-fi is available throughout the cottage.

Smoking is not permitted inside the cottage and we regret that no children or pets are allowed

Outside:

There is a patio area supplied with a dining table, candles, overhead string lighting and a bbq which is a lovely space to eat and drink on a warm evening

In addition, to the side of the cottage is a private lawned area with access to the Grand Union canal towpath via a walk across the Manor fields. Two canal-side pubs are within easy walking distance along the towpath.

There is ample guest parking for two cars.

Guest access:
Guests have exclusive access to the cottage, the cottage garden and to the patio bbq area.

Excellent stay in Braunston
The cottage is a lovely property to stay in and the hosts are very welcoming. It is a beautiful, charcterful cottage, that is well positioned for country and canalside walks. The town of Braunston itself is also full of interesting historical aspects. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to go back again.

Beautiful cottage, immaculate and cosy.
We stayed over a weekend with friends and owners kindly offered early check in and were very attentive to any needs. This was the best equipped vrbo we have ever stayed in. We were in want of nothing. Both bedrooms having ensuites a real plus. Walks and pubs easily accessible but we loved the cottage, so just stayed in. It was minus degrees outside but was warm and cosy. Tastefully decorated with soft furnishings to make you feel like you are at home. Can't recommend enough!

My wife Fiona and myself purchased the 17th century Braunston Manor around 14 years ago and we have spent the time since renovating and converting what was a boutique hotel into a family home. A couple of years ago we converted the cottage into an Airbnb providing modern facilities whilst retaining as many of the historic features as we could. It’s been a new venture for us, but it’s been lovely meeting so many diverse visitors from all over the world and all have given us top reviews via the various outlets that we advertise on and many have visited more than once, which has been a lovely vote of confidence for what we have done.

Why they chose this property

Braunston village is known as the heart of the English canals, as it’s at the junction of two of the main canals in the uk. Because of this, there are many old canal buildings that provide a backdrop for local walks along the canal towpaths and the countryside, stopping at canal side pubs for refreshments along the way !
Further afield, the village is centrally placed in the midlands for visiting tourist attractions such as Stratford upon Avon, Warwick castle, Althorp, the Cotswolds, Silverstone and many other places to visit within an hour’s drive. In addition, there is a mainline railway station at Rugby (5 miles away) that links directly to London within 55mins

What makes this property unique

A combination of modern living within a historic 17th century building. Both bedrooms have en-suites and double four poster beds, giving both privacy and luxury.
Within walking distance are four pubs, giving a choice of places to eat and drink, whilst there is also a shop, butchers and other facilities, meaning that you can be self-sufficient in the village, if you want to be, or use it as a base to explore the many attractions within the English Midlands
