About this property
Christmas Cottage - in Tetbury
Nestled on the historic Gumstool Hill where the quirky Woolsack Race takes place, Christmas Cottage offers a peaceful retreat in the middle of the exciting hubbub of Tetbury. With two beautiful bedrooms, the cottage is ideal for a small family or couples wanting a romantic getaway in the Cotswolds. With original beams, inglenook fireplace and stable doors, the cottage is packed with over two hundred years of character and charm.
On the ground floor you'll find an elegant living room complete with a wood burning stove, perfect for relaxing evenings in after a busy day of exploring. A pretty kitchen with dining table is a lovely spot for a breakfast before heading out for the day or a feast prepared with ingredients bought at Tetbury’s numerous gourmet food and wine shops.
A bright, spacious and elegantly furnished masted bedroom can be found on the first floor, as well as a delightful landing with window seat overlooking the garden. The second floor is devoted to a second spacious and character-filled bedroom with views across the rooftops of beautiful Tetbury.
To the rear of the cottage, a private patio terrace over two levels is a lovely spot for a cocktail or Pimm’s on a summer’s evening with the relaxing smell of lavender around you. If you’re lucky enough to be at the cottage in May, simply wander outside the front door for a ‘ring-side’ seat at the passing Woolsack Races, Tetbury’s famous pastime.
Ground Floor
Hallway: Welcoming you inside is Christmas Cottage’s light and airy hallway, where there’s room for hanging coats and storing boots after long strolls through the countryside.

Kitchen/dining room: Whether settling down to morning brunch or an evening feast complete with fresh local produce, the kitchen is truly the heart of Christmas Cottage. A place to gather and connect with friends and family, there’s seating for four and all the essentials to keep you happy during your stay. We love the traditional stable door - pop it open on a warm day to enjoy the sounds of nature.
First Floor
Bedroom one: Find sanctuary amid the peaceful surroundings of bedroom one which has a super king-size bed. A place filled with natural light, this serene spot is a place to rest, read and relax after a day exploring Tetbury.
Bathroom: A light and spacious room, the cottage’s bathroom features a polished Cotswold stone floor and neutral tones. A bath with a rainfall shower, basin and gleaming mirror sign off the room with finesse.
Second Floor
Bedroom two: On the second floor is a double bedroom commanding great views across the rooftops to the mature trees along the Tetbury Trail. As the sun sinks, rest on the bed and pull out a book to enjoy the last few hours of the day in this charming spot. Outside
