Lovely location
The views from the house were outstanding, with many villages and towns to visit within a short drive. The property was a bit difficult to find around the narrow roads and lanes even with a GPS, The house was very comfortable and peaceful in a lovely location overlooking the hills and valleys. The small terrace with table and seating at the front entrance would have been a feature but really needed TLC. Overall it was a lovely peaceful stay in a delightful location.

Views and comfort
We really enjoyed our holiday in Mount Cottage as a familiy with grown-up children. It is spacious, cosy and well-equipped, and it has been the first holiday home ever with enough light to read in the evenings! The views from all of the windows are great (and a visit to the Dominican priory in sight on the other side of the valley a "must" - just lovely), and the views from Minchinhampton and Rodborough Common on the hilltop, all within walking distance, fantastic. There is so much to do: walking, running, visiting the well known Cotswolds highlights, but also wonderful places that escape most guidebooks like Fairford or Selsley. We will definitely be back!

AMAZING VIEWS!!!!!
Perfect for a tranquil and serene holiday with amazing views. Well stocked and comfortable cottage. Spent most of our time on the patio overlooking the view. Good location and not far from many of the recommended Cotswolds sights. An excellent place to chill out and enjoy the surrounding nature.

great holiday home on great location
We really enjoyed our stay at this home, the location as well as the cottage itself were great. Lots of room inside the cottage when the weather is not so great, but also the surroundings have many opportunities for walks and sightseeing.

About the host

We've spent 33 years working abroad in various countries and always looked forward to returning to our cosy cottage with it sunset views. Most of the paintings, drawings and photos decorating the cottage were done by our daughter when at school, reflecting our homes in East Africa and Japan.
We're now retired and live part time in New Zealand, southern Europe and England.

Why they chose this property

We like walking and searched extensively to find a cosy stone cottage with unspoilt rural views in the Five Valleys area near Minchinhamton and Rodborough Commons and Stroud.

What makes this property unique

Our cottage is cool in summer and warm in winter, with good sunsets all year round. Enjoy the fascinating views from every room whatever the weather outside. Many local footpaths nearby for exploring the immediate area and easy access to the Cotswold Way.
