The house was wonderful! Ryan met us as we pulled in and was great with communicating with us throughout the stay. The house is 20-30 mins away from a lot of attractions - Mall of America, Fort Snelling, Twins Games, etc.
I highly recommend this property as a place to stay!
Highly recommend this absolutely gorgeous house on a beautiful piece of land just off the river. We were looking for a place that was still close enough to the Twin Cities but provided a rural feel, and this was perfect. Ryan was a great host, check in and check out was seamless, amenities were exactly as described, and we had a wonderful, relaxing stay. Will definitely be staying again in the future!
Spacious, beautiful home in scenic surroundings. Host was very attentive. Far enough away from city to feel like an escape while close enough to access any necessary services and businesses. Our family greatly enjoyed our stay!
Thanks Ryan for taking such good are of us during our stay. We were impressed with the home, the kitchen setup and loved the fireplace and movie room. Thanks you again, these accommodations are outstanding. Hope to visit during the summer time.
Our family of adults from Vermont, Pennsylvania ,and Texas met in Minneapolis to enjoy the week of Thanksgiving together with extended family. This home was perfect for all of us!
The house is spacious and cozy and was perfect for our stay. We could come back after a long day exploring the city and could have quiet surroundings and a great yard for the kids. The owner was easy to communicate with and went above and beyond to make sure we had what we needed and were satisfied with everything.
Large, beautiful home with lots of space. We had lots of space to visit or watch TV. Bedrooms were large and comfortable, with adjoining bathrooms or adjacent bathrooms. Outside area was beautiful.
We loved every minute of our visit to Minnesota. The property was gorgeous and had plenty of room to spread out. Everyone had their own bedroom. The kitchen had everything that you needed. We loved the media room and enjoyed watching movies. Each bedroom has a TV too! Ryan was a great host and was available for any questions. He responded right away and even let us borrow his crock pot. I would absolutely recommend this property to family and friends.
Lovely house on a channel off the Mississippi, great for kayaking. Lovely large deck for outside gatherings and many options inside as well. Feels like you're away from the city, but you're only a short drive from St. Paul. It was a wonderful place to host a family reunion. The movie room was an added bonus!
It was fun to stay here on the river, we kayaked a few times and were close enough to the city to entertain the teens! They loved the theater room too!
Ryan was very helpful. We would stay here again!
I took my elderly parents and brother with special needs to this awesome home. My daughter (who goes to school up there) stayed with us a couple nights and my wife and son and dog came up for a couple nights as well. The house was more than spacious and had something for everyone. My dad got to fish off the dock and did quite well, as did my brother. My mom loved reading on the deck and spent a lot of time enjoying the surroundings. Ryan was very attentive and there when we needed him. He even brought over some chopped wood for our outdoor bonfires. My daughter and I enjoyed the kayaks and I would have used them more on the river if I had the time. We watched a couple Netflix shows in the theater room a couple nights, which everyone enjoyed. All in all, a great time
Great place to meet family and escape the hectic work pace. Beautiful patio with fire pit for evening S’motes after kayaking. Wonderful Home Theater room to enjoy a movie after hiking local trails (beware of ticks!). We would definitely visit again.
Large comfortable house on a beautiful property. Our kids had a great time exploring the area and loved the dock and periodic deer sightings. It’s a very quiet area and you feel like your remote but only 15 mins from shopping and anything you could need.
Great communication and service from the host and caretaker. The furniture has been updated since some of the older reviews. We look forward to visiting again!
The house was fantastic - we had great family time. Lots of room to move around. Though warning to anyone with bad knees... the low toilets are a killer after a week. Again, the house was beautiful, though should upkeep some of the furnishings to stay a 5 star rental
The house was nice. The inside matched the pictures but the outside was not the well landscaped yard that was shown in the pictures. It has become overgrown with weeds and needs some attention. Kayaks were great but dock was small and needs some repair to ensure safety. The chairs on the deck were not very comfortable and some of the furniture inside has some wear and tear. However, the property manager was very nice to work with and my family did have a great time!! Overall, still a great place, just not quite the outside space in the pictures.
What a fantastic place to stay! Kayak rides, smores by the campfire, play structure for the kids, and plenty of space indoors for group activities or quiet time.
Thoroughly enjoyed a week with 3 of my siblings, their spouses and some additional family members. The house accommodations are spacious and nicely appointed. Main level is uber conducive to conversation whether in the dining area, kitchen or one of 2 sitting areas.
Stayed with my mother, husband, nephews and our dog. House is beautiful and big enough to socially distance but still enjoy family time. The trees and birds chirping in the mornings was soothing and the deck was great for sunbathing. Ryan was a great host. We appreciated him lending us his canoe and bringing us fresh country eggs. Plan to come back again soon!
As everyone else said the pictures do not do the home justice. The home was much nicer than the pictures. The house had just about everything we needed except we had to bring our own dish soap, and paper towels. The sliding door stuck almost every time and that got frustrating.
The view was amazing and the deck and outdoor space was incredible. There was a swing set which was perfect for the kids but no baby swing.
We used the movie theater as a 5th bedroom so that worked perfect for my family.
There were lots of hornets on the back deck which wasn't ideal but we were able to kill a few which helped.
My whole family agreed we would stay again.
We spent a lot of time in the front yard so the kids could ride bikes and play on the swing set so I wish we would have brought camping chairs.
Neighborhood felt safe and it felt like we were up north because it is tucked back and secluded. Highly recommend!!
I was confused by the layout of the pictures. There is no basement, the theater room is upstairs and the 2 living room areas are next to the kitchen and wouldn't be ideal for sleeping.

About the host
Hosted by Ryan
My wife is a medical imaging technologist, and I design search engines. We both love the outdoors and nature, and are really happy to share this very special spot with you.
Why they chose this property
We have always wanted to own riverfront, with historic reference, in a home large enough to host family events, with land large enough to share with the animals.
What makes this property unique
This property, has plenty of wildlife, turkeys, deer, coyotes, eagles, racoons, groundhogs, catfish, walleye, crappie, bluegill, northern, bass, turtles, and even beavers. Its been used for 1000 years as hunting grounds, and this area is known for having the largest concentration of burial mounds in Minnesota. Uniquely situated in a cove that is protected from the main waters of the river, yet giving access to the river and all its fun and recreation.
