About this property
Islip Mill House - Beautiful Riverside Home
Islip Mill House is a Grade II listed riverside retreat, beautifully nestled alongside the Nene River. It's the ideal choice for friends-and-family get-togethers with its fantastically proportioned rooms to accommodate up to eight guests for a waterside stay away.
Islip Mill House and attached Mill date back from the middle of the 18th Century. The property has evolved over time to present a comfortable and versatile family setting with plenty of character. Enjoy the beautiful riverside gardens overlooking the mill stream where Kingfishers, swans and even an otter can frequently be spotted on the river.
The accommodation is set over two floors, with four king-size bedrooms. Many of the rooms enjoy a river or garden view and those that do not, enjoy views over the neighboring countryside. The ground floor is entered via the kitchen, boasting an impressive oil-fired Aga to cook up a storm in the winter evenings, in addition to everything else you should need in this fully equipped kitchen. The Aga is turned off in the warmer months. An arch opens to lead through to the breakfast room, where you can enjoy family dining with dual aspect garden and river views. Fancy a meal out? The nearby Woolpack Inn just 400 yards away is a welcoming pub offering great food and drink.
Unwind next to the cozy fireplace through to the dining area for a relaxed eating experience for you and your guests. The living room lies adjacent and has a window overlooking the river and mill, with an inviting fireplace and French doors opening to the riverside terrace. The family/den room, with a bay window overlooking the front yard enjoys plenty of light and electric fire to make cozy on those chilly evenings.
An additional fridge freezer is available in the sunroom also. Guests will also have access to the trunk room and a downstairs bathroom.
The stairs from the dining room lead to the second floor of the house. Guests have access to four bedrooms, one with a full bathroom (including an amusingly quirky alcove bathtub). A large family bathroom with a large shower, toilet, and sink.
Parking is included for 8+ vehicles.
Booking Conditions:
- No smoking
- Pet Friendly! We welcome well-behaved guests and their pets.
- The property is annexed and one extremity of the building may be occupied, but remains completely cut off from guest areas, including the exterior/gardens.
- Short-stay guests welcomed, a maximum of 7 nights.
