We enjoyed our night here as we explored Northern Iceland. I was concerned that it might feel really tight with 6 adults - and it probably would have for a longer stay, but for a quick overnight or a longer stay for a family with kids (who would enjoy the small playground), it's great. The surroundings are absolutely gorgeous.
We booked a few nights at the Hidden Cottage and simply loved the place! The cottage is located not far from a village, in a pretty countryside area. The house had everything you needed and the cottage was very clean. The kitchen is well equipped and the beds are comfortable. My 13 year old son particularly appreciated the soccer field we had access to!
I recommend this place during your stay in Iceland!
Incredible location for the spring, backcountry skier. Nice 2 bedroom layout. Kitchen was easy. Shared bathroom not the best. But seperate shower room helps. A bit of a jaunt from town, but quiet and serene upon arrival. No cell signal. But wifi was consistent, minus one day when it went blank. Hike and ski right from your deck.

Why they chose this property
Ólafsfjörður is one of the most beautiful fjord in Iceland, yet not so visited. It is authentic: the mountains are untouched, few people around, friendly locals in nearby town and a few farmers. If you want the essence of Icelandic country site culture, this is the place to see.
What makes this property unique
Hidden Cottages stand out due to the location, high class windows and hot tubs. The location is in the "middle of nowhere" yet only a few minutes drive to the next town and attractions. It is surrounded by mountains and green fields, with views out the fjord over lake Ólafsfjarðarvatn and to the ocean. Due to no light pollution, the location is the best for Northern Lights.
