The village: Seillans is officially rated as one of the most beautiful villages in France. It has a population of some 1,600 people with narrow, winding medieval streets. There are excellent restaurants. Les Deux Rocs with a beautiful outside terrace. Chez Hugo chef owner , with delightful imaginative cooking. Gloire de Mon Pere with tables under the plain trees in the village square . Hermance Caro, now runs the Michelin starred Castellaras which is between Seillans and Fayence. Seillans has a post office with a 24-hour cash point machine two boulangeries, chemist, newsagent and pizzeria, all five minutes from the house by car. There is a medium-sized supermarket,Huit A Huit,at the entrance to Seillans.
The area: Our village is forty five minutes drive from Nice airport and Cannes is thirty five minutes. In the high season the car trains come to Frejus, the nearest point on the coast from house, perhaps twenty-five minutes. Twenty minutes to one side of Seillans brings you to Bargemon, about ten minutes the other way takes you to Fayence, larger than Seillans with a large hyper-market and one of the best boulangeries in the Var and a twice weekly market.
Recreational facilities: The village has excellent tennis courts and there are a wide choice of golf corses in the area. There is a fantastic golf complex, Terre Blanche, between us and Lac St cassien;15 minutes away. We have another golf course near Le Muy about 25 Minutes away. Lac St Cassien, twenty-five minutes away, is a large inland lake with beaches, pedalos and lake-side restaurants. Fayence airport is one of the leading glider airports in Europe (and has a great value for money restaurant). We have two superb vineyards ten minutes from us: Domaine des Selves and the, multi-award winning, Chateau d'Iris.

We stayed in this Wonderfull house for 8 days and it was the best time spent. The house is so beautifully furnished and there is so much love in it by the owners. Some vacation rental homes usually are very spars on furniture but you can clearly see the the owners also use their home in France privately. I can only recommend this wonderful retreat for people looking for peace and quite. Also the near by village of Seillans is so lovely and romantic. ...please don't go there - because I will want to come back and need this vacancy hahaha. You will not regret booking with the Marshalls. :-)

We loved, loved, loved our stay
We really enjoyed our holiday and like all great holidays it surpassed expectation in pretty much all respects. The things we especially appreciated:
1) This is a proper 'home' and not just a holiday let property. It therefore feels very welcoming - interesting art, objet d'art and antique furniture.
2) As a home the kitchen is very well stocked. Cooking and good eating is very much part of our holiday and we found everything we needed in the kitchen (and more)
3) The outside dining area with log fireplace, sofas, dining table and BBQ was a real highlight and we spent a lot of time here (lunches and dinners). There is good outside lighting and the sound system which meant we spent the long summer evenings just chatting with friends and family. It was lovely to spend quality time with our children (in their teens and early twenties) and their friends. Without mobile phones and the TV to distract we ended up doing the old fashioned things of talking, laughing, and playing parlour games and cards.
4) The swimming pool was a good size and the area around the pool large enough for all our party to lounge out in comfort
5) The sizable private grounds around the house meant that you never felt hemmed in by other buildings/neighbours.
6) Seillans and the neighbouring villages are all lovely, traditional and remarkably un touristy. We took our road bikes down with us and explored the local countryside every other day. The terrain is a little hilly and it was pretty hot in the middle of the day but the roads were clear, the tarmac good and the vistas superb.
We spent one day on the beach (Ste Maxime) and one afternoon at the local lake. The local lake was quite fun with the pedalos and paddle boards but of the two days we preferred the one spent on the beach.
The local restaurants were pretty good but we are spoiled coming from London. We were not so enamoured with the Gloire de mon Pere in Seillans (although the setting by the village fountain was atmospheric) but we really enjoyed the Les Temps des Cerises in Fayence. We bought a couple of quiches from the local deli in Seillans for lunch one day but at 25 euros per quiche it was an expensive 'lunch at home' that day. That said the quiches were pretty good.
Thanks for a lovely summer's holiday

Elegant, charming, luxurious
This is the most luxurious and elegant villa we have ever stayed in. It is decorated and furnished in superb taste and the owners have added so many little touches that you really do feel that you're staying with friends. From the moment we arrived, we were charmed by the house and its surroundings - a beautiful and unspoilt wooded hillside teeming with birds and wildlife. Although located just a few minutes' drive from Seillans, you nevertheless feel completely private once you've arrived at the villa.

Wonderful!
Lou Lin dei Sacy is a really great holiday house, a lovely old rambling building in the hills near Seiilans, a beautiful medieval hillside village. We spent two idyllic weeks here, soaking up the sunshine by the pool, and enjoying all the luxurious ambience of the house and extensive gardens. It is beautifully furnished and decorated in a rustic stylish way, with very well equipped kitchens, and lots of thoughtful flourishes and touches,. We had everything we needed and more to relax, eat, sleep and have fun, including a boules pitch, outdoor kitchen, very high quality beds and furnishings, plentiful hot water, and lots of towels. We spent a lot of time in the pool, and there was plenty of comfortable pool furniture and cushions. The owners obviously have invested a lot of time and love into this house and garden, as everything from the huge pots of flowers and herbs, to the outdoor sitting area with sofas and fireplace, to the collections of Provençal pottery and paintings, shouts out their efforts and passion for the place. I would have no hesitation to recommending this house to anyone wanting a gorgeous authentic Provençal holiday home.

Idyllic farmhouse and village
Beautifully furnished and supremely comfortable. Our best location yet with Owners Direct. The pool garden and outside dinning were a great success with our extended family. The village had all we needed with excellent restaurants,(especially Chez Hugo and Les Deux Rocs), boulangerie and general store. The local bar is was also popular for an early coffee. Local vineyards provided excellent Rose and owners couldn't have been more helpful and delightful. Loved every minute.
