Beautifull house with beautifull views. Warm, comffy and fun.
Everything was great, beautifull, good and fun, except the expensive gas (60 euro for 3.5 days), no normal chanels on T.V and old towels.
The owner is very kind and there is a very nice ski resort and snow park next to the house.

The gas is according to consumption at the cost price. It depends by meteo and temperature desired. In this case 60€ for 4 nights= 15€ per day is more that the average of cold season (7-8 € per day with 20°c.)
Yes, there is not Israeli TV.
Thank you and goodbye!

Great week in Valgrisenche
We were two Swedish families with children who had a great stay in Baita Etienne in June. Very affordable, clean and nice apartment with wonderful mountain views from the sunny patio and in a perfect location for hiking and activities in the beautiful Valgrisenche valley and a short drive to other sights and activities in the Aosta valley. Super efficient service and information from the owner Cesare from booking to departure, would recommend to stay in his house to anyone!

Wonderful holiday in Valgrisenche!
Our family of five had a fantastic stay at Cesare's house. The house is in a perfect location overlooking the chairlift and ski slopes. Everything was clean and comfortable and the kids could ski all day and come home for lunch and breaks.Cesare was a wonderful host and made every effort to ensure our stay was great. We loved our week in Valgrisenche. It was a real highlight! Thanks Cesare! Steve and Colette Webber

The house was satisfactory in all respects. It had a nice garden. Our daughter with family stayed on the top floor and we stayed on the ground floor, so it was a nice place for a reunion of 2 families. There are endless walks starting from the house, the views are stunning, and the owners are very friendly and speak in addition to Italian perfect French and some English too. There is no wifi, but the owner considers installing it sometime. We might consider another visit in the future.

Gorgious Valgrisenche
We had a wonderful stay in this very cosy and nice house in Valgrisenche. To begin with the owners are very very nice, helpful and accurate in everything. The house is spacious, secluded (with lots of privacy) and has everything you need, with a beautiful and typical 'mountain-house' atmosphere (we were in the large appartment above, with large balcony and access to the big, split level garden). We especially liked the view from the house and the big garden (with childrens playground and garden furniture). The view from the house and garden into the valley is gorgious. The Valgrisenche valley is amongst the most beautiful we have ever seen, It is certainly not less beautiful than the neighbouring National Park Gran Paradiso! All together we had two wonderful weeks in this nice and comfortable house in the middle of a gorgious landscape.

thank and salute in the very nice and very kind Dutch guests, precise Valgrisenche is on the border of the National Park of Gran Paradiso only because in the 50s it was built the dam of Beauregard. But the landscape has nothing to envy to the valleys of the park.
Now I am nearing completion of the demolition works (almost all) of the dam so that soon we will have only a modest barrier that will leave tourists also enjoy the charm that represents a large mountain lake (albeit artificial).

"We spent a lovely week i...
"We spent a lovely week in the great landscape of Valgrisenge. Our flat in the small village La Bethaz had everything you need there, just if you have problem with your back, the mattress ist not too comfortably, but ok and as a taller Person you should mind your head under the shower:) But you have to remember, that these old houses were not built for showers, so excused. If you love to climb and hike, this is definitly a good choice. You can start very nice tours direct from your flat and you are far far away from typical tourist areas.
The owners were very kind and uncomplicated(if possible, speak French instead of English to them, but you will get through).
So, we were sad, that we could only stay 1 week and hope to come back to Valgrisenge some day.
Regards to Cesare and his sister. Ciao"

Wonderfully helpful kind ...
Wonderfully helpful kind owners make sure all eventualities are covered. They and many family memebers are part of the current and historic fabric of the area, very involved in the mountains, walks, local events etc.
The accommodation is good, though shower far too small and low for someone more than small/average height. Lights not too good, but the wood burning stove was cosy and welcoming in the evening. Situation of the flat (Cesare's sister's) is ideal for walking. Only gripe is that the little shop in the Capoluogo, Valgrisenche, could keep a far greater variety and far more food as the space is large, though holds little produce.
Wonderful walking area and for non walkers there are many natural things to see and castles in the valley etc. Aosta is also well worth a visit for its history and culture.
Thank you for a wonderful week! We shall be back, the sooner the better!

Nice typical house in a lovely village
We rented from March 26 to March 30 . The location was excellent next to a ski area . Amazing area surrounded by mountains and snow. Kids really enjoyed playing in snow.
The apartment was quite satisfactory and it had at least what we needed for our stay except the wifi as it only worked for few hours and then no more. We also requested the use of the washing machine but end up washing the baby clothes and some other clothes by hand as the machine was locked in another room. Always ask for extra charges as we had to pay for the use of the gas consumed although we were not informed about this. Groceries need to be bought on your way to the village as the only shop around was completely useless. On the whole we spent a lovely time in Valgrisenche.
Thanks very much

unfortunately the wifi is very fast up to 30 monthly gigabyte: a very high limit for a "normal" use (email, whatsapp, facebook etc.) but over 30 giga slows down a lot. Therefore at the end of the month (as in this case), if the previous guests (sometimes large families) abusing the wi-fi watching many videos and movies (film), I can not guarantee the speed of service ...
about extra charges it's possible see it in: "RATES": "General"; when you go with the mouse on the word "Heating..."
Saluti agli amici Maltesi!
Cesare was super helpful in organising a map for us (thank you, Cesare!). We had some problems with the hot water but Cesare helped fix this. The property has a lot of character but is quite dark (not much natural light), so if this is important to you then consider finding somewhere else. The views from the balcony are lovely but sadly you don't quite see them easily from the living area because the windows are small. Of course this is a reflection of the old/traditional style of the house, so not a fault of the owners. It is a shame that you have to pay for heating - we avoided using it and the house was quite cold even though the temperatures outside were good (it was May). We loved the fire, however.

as you can see from photo n. 4 the windows abound (and 3 face south) but, of course, in a typical MOUNTAIN house one cannot think of having the large windows of a modern house...
The wood for the fireplace was provided free of charge while the gas heating is paid according to own consumption to avoid the waste that occurred when it was free... and also for the benefit of global warming. In this period, however, with 15-20€ of gas the house would have been very warm for the entire stay...
It was a real pleasure to have you as guests. Goodbye!

Stunning location
A lovely apartment in a fantastic situation with friendly, helpful hosts. We did find the advert a little confusing because the photos are exactly the same for both apartments so, for future reference, Baita Etienne is the top floor apartment with two bedrooms, a dining area/kitchen/living room (including a magnificent wood burner) and bathroom with bath but only a hand held shower over. There are lots of easy walks in the Valgrisenche valley itself (including many directly from the apartment) and the Gran Paradiso National Park is just down the road for more stunning scenery. A week is certainly not long enough to appreciate the area fully. At the bottom of the road to the apartment (less than quarter of a mile away) is a marmot sanctuary. You may be lucky enough to see one but you will certainly hear their warning whistles when you draw near. We suggest you budget an extra £30 per week (summer) to cover the cost of gas and water, though the logs for the fire are provided free of charge. The restaurant of the Hotel des Myrtilles is right next door and it seems to have a good reputation, though we did not get the opportunity to try it ourselves. Ours was a summer holiday but the apartment looks perfect for winter sports enthusiasts as the cable car and ski runs are only a few hundred yards away. Thoroughly recommended.

Too bad they are not at all were lucky because of very cold weather considering the season !!

Torneremo sicuramente!
