About this property
Romantic Medieval Escape
This charming home isn’t just a vacation retreat—it’s a piece of living history. Passed down through generations, the property was once part of an ancient castle. Mrs. Marinelli, who inherited it from her father, undertook a careful restoration in 2013. Her mission was to preserve the soul and authenticity of the space while offering modern comforts to her guests. Every stone tells a story, and every corner echoes the nobility and quiet grandeur of its medieval past.
Set into the rock face and nestled at the top of the hill in the picturesque village of Petrella Guidi, the home—affectionately known as “La Grotta”—offers a rare chance to travel back in time. Surrounded by the gentle hills of the Apennines and overlooking the beautiful Montefeltro valley and even San Marino, the setting is peaceful, almost magical. The silence, the views, and the feeling of being wrapped in history make this an unforgettable escape. Just a short walk away, the Old Tower provides panoramic views not to be missed, and the village itself is a perfect starting point for discovering the cultural gems of the region.
Adding to its charm, guests are welcome to enjoy fresh fruit from the orchard nearby, owned by Mrs. Marinelli herself. And for those traveling with pets, small to medium-sized companions are warmly welcomed. As Mrs. Marinelli says, “Staying here is like taking a journey through time, embraced by the sweet hills of the Apennines.”
