Lovely area

Apartment has many stairs-27 steps to top bedroom, which has a very low, slanted ceiling. Pictures of apt advertised, do not show or explain. On the bright side; the A/C was great, in the bedrooms and the pool was nice, but very cold. Actually felt good on the hot days.

Fantastic Location

My husband and I had a great week in Montefalco at Francesco’s apartment. We stayed in one of the three traditional apartments about a minute walk from the centre square within the town walls. The apartment had everything we needed and the pool area was fabulous in the good weather. The photos are a good representation of the apartment; some of the rooms are a little dark and the outside is a little overgrown and older. This was the perfect spot to explore Montefalco itself as we were so close to everything (restaurants, bars, churches, shops etc) but also there was parking close by so we could have easy access to our hire car for trips to other towns in the area. Thank you so much Natasha and Francesco.

Cozy Apartment in a Beautiful Town

We loved our stay in the Melanzio apartment! The town is great. Quiet, friendly people and GREAT food. The restaurants are spectacular. We did cook a lovely meal in our kitchen one night. (The grocery is just outside the walls and very convenient. Also, there are small markets just for meat and cheese which are great for snacks and 'happy hour' at home.) We had everything we needed. There were also plenty of pillows and blankets and the heaters work very well. Our host Natalia was always around if we had questions. We actually ran into her a few times during our stay and she was very helpful. My husband speaks a little Italian and she speaks a little English so we were able to understand each other well enough. Francesco, who we spoke with on the phone a few times, was very helpful as well. If you can't do stairs or have little ones who aren't ready for stairs, I recommend trying one of the other 2 apartments in this villa. They can be a little treturous if you aren't paying attention. Also, if you are driving there (which is recommended) you need not worry about parking as there is a spot for you just around the corner from the front door to the courtyard. (But pay attention to signs, there are many one-ways and watch out for kids, animals and the occasional tourist who wanders into the middle of the road.) We fully intend to visit again during a warmer season and take more advantage to the garden area and the pool!

Italy Family Vacation 2014

My wife and our 2 teenage boys stayed in the Melanzio unit. We can't say enough about the property and Montafalco. An absolutely charming medieval village on a stand alone hill top. Very close to many other villages and a town to buy groceries. During August, the Festival de Montefalco is going on and you can hear some reveling going on but that's half the fun. Really wonderful trip and the apartment was big enough for our family. The pool was perfect at the end of the day!

Beau de loin, mais loin d'être beau

Appartement qui pourrait être très agréable s'il avait été bien pensé, conçu et rénové. Ensemble décevant par rapport aux photos. Appartement qui n'a pas été rénové dans les règles de l'art. de même pour la piscine. Equipement minimaliste. Par contre, situation géographique idéale. Région magnifique

A beautiful location in a beautiful Umbrian town

The town of Montefalco is a lively town that is not overrun by tourists but has all the shops, cafés & restaurants that we needed for our visit. The house was as described in the website and the kitchen was well equipped. The wifi connection in Melanzio was weak (the modem is in another apartment, we think) but that is just more of an excuse to make use of the lovely garden and pool. The small pool was perfect for cooling off in after a day exploring the towns and countryside of Umbria. In summary, a perfect house only 100m from the town square in a lovely old town.

Schöne

Mein Mann und ich verbrachten in August eine wundervolle Woche in Montefalco, auch dank dieser wunderschön restaurierten Wohnung im Herzen der mittelalterlichen Hügelstadt. Die Wohnung ist geschmackvoll eingerichtet, es fehlt an nichts. Einzige Einschränkung: das sehr kleine Badezimmer. Der abgeschirmte Hof mit kleinem Pool lädt zum Entspannen oder gemütlichen Lesen ein. Man wohnt nur wenige Schritte von der stimmungsvollen Piazza del Comune entfernt, ist in wenigen Minuten im Caffè del Corso, wo eine ganze Reihe von italienischen Tageszeitungen zur Auswahl stehen (am Kiosk im Corso bekommt man eine grosse Auswahl an ausländischen Zeitungen, zumindest im Sommer), besucht das Museo di San Francesco mit umwerfenden Fresken des Künstlers Benozzo Gozzoli, spaziert einfach durch die schmalen Gassen oder geniesst eine wundervolle Aussicht auf die nähere Umgebung. Natürlich ist auch für das leibliche Wohl gesorgt: es hat genug Restaurants, Bars und Enoteche, in denen nicht nur Rosso di Montefalco und Sagrantino serviert werden.Ganz besonders zu empfehlen ist L'Alchimista auf der Piazza del Comune, einfach umwerfend, was Patrizia auf den Teller zaubert! Wer sich für Textilien interessiert, darf natürlich die Tessitura Pardi nicht verpassen: traumhafte Stoffe, die sogar königliche Brautjungfern einkleiden! Wen es dann auch etwas weg zieht, kann von Montefalco aus mit dem Auto eine ganze Reihe wunderschöner Orte in der näheren Umgebung besuchen: Spoleto, Assisi, Perugia, Todi, Bevagna, Trevi, Spello, Orvieto, Terni. Auch einen Abstecher in die benachbarte Toskana ist durchaus möglich. Ein rundum gelungener Aufenthalt! Sehr zu empfehlen.

Melanzio "Eine Perle im Herzen Umbriens"

Im Mai 2011, fuhren meine Freundin und ich für 7 Tage nach Montefalco. Das Apartment Melanzio ist wunderschön und sehr professionell rekonstruiert. Es fehlt an nichts und es ist auch sehr ruhig. Der Vermieter spricht sehr gutes Englisch und kann viele wertvolle Tipps zur Umgebung und Montefalco geben. Man erreicht vom Haus nach nur 100m den Hauptplatz am Rathaus und befindet sich inmitten einer traumhaft schönen gepflegten Italienischen Kleinstadt. Alles was man braucht findet man hier (auch Sonntags) sehr gute Restaurants (für mich auch eines der besten Italiens), Bars, Geschäfte, Pasticceria, Fleischer und Bäcker. Die vielen kleinen Weingüter laden gerne zu einem Rundgang mit Verkostung ein und das Olivenöl ist auch Top. Nächstes Jahr kommen wir wieder - Next Year we will come back!!! Thomas & Daniela

Beautifully Restored and Presented

We spent a week at Melanzio recently and found the apartment charming. The living area was cool in the heat, and well appointed. The owner was very pleasant to deal with, and responded to some minor requests immediately. It was a couple of minutes' walk to the piazza with its bars, ristorantes, churches and shops.The apartment has a wonderful courtyard area with a good sized lap pool for cooling off in the July heat. With just three apartments sharing this outdoor area (the photos don't do it justice) there is plenty of space to read a book quietly on one's own, but the opportunity is there to socialise with others if desired. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the apartment complex as a great choice.

Wonderful!!!

In March of 2009 my husband and I stayed six nights in this wonderful apartment in the heart of Montefalco. It was in a wonderful location for day trips and it was a terrific home base. We fell in love with the area and appreciated the kindness and flexibility of the owner, Vitteu. The apartment was very clean and well represented online. It has a beautiful ambiance and you can enjoy simply relaxing inside or walking about the town, never far from your home away from home. There were several enotechs only minutes away by foot and also a wonderful little grocer which we frequented to buy vegetables and meat for our dinners. There are also several cafes close by which we frequented on a daily basis. If you get a chance, we also highly recommend an experience with the "Montefalco Mob" which made our trip. We would not hesitate to stay here again and hope you get to experience the charm of the town and apartment (and Vitteu!).
