Region: Cornwall’s visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain’s premier holiday destinations.

Town: Situated in the valley of the Fowey River, surrounded by woodlands and farms, this small village is ideal for anyone seeking a quiet escape from the bustle of city life. The town is well-known as an antiques hub, with numerous stores and dealers in addition to a swanky selection of country inns, tasty eats, and a bustling farmer's market. The National Trust's Lanhydrock House and Gardens are only three miles away, and you can easily visit the Eden Project, shipwreck museum, and tall ships harbour in Charlestown, as well as the quaint fishing towns of Mevagissey, Fowey, and Padstow, where you can dine at one of Rick Stein's world-famous restaurants. Great day trips may be had by visiting the north coast, which features the crashing Atlantic surf, long sandy beaches, and spectacular coastline, as well as the world-famous Newquay, and engaging in activities like river canoeing, biking, hiking, and leisurely walks in the beautiful outdoors. The welcoming residents also often host events like the raft race, the legendary tug of war, Carnival week, and seagull outboard motor races. The river Fowey flows from the city out through the farms and forested valleys for almost eight miles before reaching the more tranquil southern coast, a veritable heaven for beachgoers. Lostwithiel is conveniently located away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist hotspots, and it offers a wide variety of attractions and activities in the surrounding area.
