About this property
Primrose Cottage
Primrose Cottage is a newly renovated, stylish character property in the delightful village of Tywardreath (pronounced 'Taow-dreth'). A historic stone cottage with beautiful period features, it delicately blends the traditional feel with all the modern decor and appliances guests would want.
It is just a short walk to local village shops and pubs, and only a stone's throw from the timeless coastline famous for inspiring the fabulous female writer Daphne Du Maurier. Par Beach is less than 10mins away and dog friendly all year round. Carlyon Bay and Polkerris are also very nearby, both with a selection of eateries. There are plenty of lovely walks right out of the front door, and some of the most varied stretches of the South West Coast Path. The ever popular seaside town of Fowey is also within easy reach, and if you like to get out on the water some of Cornwall's best paddle-boarding can be accessed nearby at Golant.
Also not to be missed is the picturesque village of Polruan, the historic port of Charlestown and the world-famous biomes of the Eden Project. The surprisingly close north coast offers great day trips to Newquay, Padstow and Perranporth Sands, whilst the Roseland Heritage Coast is less than 30 mins to the west, comprising a multitude of hidden coves and harbours.
Entering in through the front door of the cottage, you are welcomed into a wonderfully homely living room, with with chic styling, generous sofas to sink into and a feature fireplace boasting a log burner. There are family board games, children's DVDs and even a toy chest to keep the little ones entertained, making this is an ideal space to unwind as a family after a long day of exploring the coast.
The kitchen-dining room is of a contemporary shaker-style in fitting with the cottage aesthetic, with all the amenities needed for you, including full oven and five-ring convection hob + hotplate, kettle, toaster, microwave, and fridge freezer. A delight to cook in, this space offers the all-important element of having the dining area and kitchen space open as one, ideal for socialising with family at the table as you prepare your favourite holiday breakfast!
Upstairs, there are three bedrooms, one kingsize, one double and one bunk-bed room suitable for adults or children, all tastefully decorated for a calm and airy feel.
The stairs are a charming period feature, and being original to the house, care should be taken as they are steep and have reduced headroom.
The family bathroom, also located on the first floor, is in a classic style, offering a mains shower over the bath, large basin, and close-coupled WC.
To the rear, there is an enclosed courtyard immediately off the kitchen perfect for storing beach equipment or walking/hiking gear. There is also a further private garden area behind this, with another patio area and a raised lawn, a great spot to catch the last of the evening sun at the end of the day.
There is no private parking for the property, however free on-street parking is available all along the road.
There are also excellent public transport links, as Par station is on the edge of the village and is a main line station straight to London Paddington. Book easily online through the Finest Retreats website, and start looking forward to your next Cornish adventure!
Access Info: One step up from street level through the front door. Stairs internally are steeper than average and headroom is reduced. Bathroom is on the first floor. Rear access is up a gravel access lane, through pedestrian gate and down several external steps.
Booking terms: No smoking at all in any spaces Pets are welcome Children of any age are welcome Short breaks accepted.

Lovely cottage
Lovely cottage in a good location. Kitchen was fabulous and really well equipped, a really good size. Loved village, 1 min walk to shop, butchers, take away and church ️ Great park to walk dog 10 min walk or 3 min drive….
The previous guest rubbish was in the back courtyard so we had to sit outside with their rubbish bags. Only two big towels ( family of 5) the one beach towel was dirty.

Awful stay.
Kitchen well equipped.
Smell of wet dog and damp in downstairs of cottage. Full bin bags in access to garden area. Unclean kitchen floor, top of fridge, cobwebs. Carpet stained and damp from attempt to clean. Bed sheets clean but stained. Unwashed towel on back of bathroom door. When contacted finest retreats paid a visit and did nothing but try and bribe us with a cheap bottle of aldi prosecco. Avoid, photos look great but very very deceptive.
