The Space:
The Old Post Office is a carefully designed ground floor apartment with everything that you could need for a relaxing self-catering staycation in Whitby.
Stylish and modern, the apartment features an open plan living and dining area where you can unwind and socialise. The living area features a royal blue tub style sofa and two velvet chairs in front of a flat screen TV. There is also a window seat within the bay window where you can watch the world go by. Perfect for dining, the dining area includes a wooden table and four matching chairs.
The apartment boasts two gorgeous bedrooms, the first of them fitted with a comfy double bed and the second with two single beds. In the master bedroom, you will find fantastic storage space, local photography featuring the well-renowned Whitby Abbey and a cosy colour scheme. Similar to the master bedroom, the second bedroom at The Old Post Office also has premium soft furnishings, whilst the room itself is finished to a high standard.
Modern and stylish, the bathroom features a bathtub with an overhead shower, WC and wash basin.
At the front of the apartment is an enclosed yard.
Host & Stay are committed to our owners that their homes are protected during bookings. For this reason, we require all of our guests to transfer a £250.00 Damage Deposit (subject to a £10.00 administration charge) or, to purchase an Accidental Damage Waiver for £25.00 which will cover you for up to £500.00 of accidental damage during your stay.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the full apartment. The keys to the Old Post Office are accessed via a key safe box, details of which will be provided prior to your stay.
Free on-street parking is available on surrounding streets on a first come, first served basis.
A maximum of two well behaved dogs are welcome to stay at The Old Post Office per reservation.
The Neighborhood:
The Old Post Office is located near the harbour in Whitby and you’ll find restaurants, shops and pubs less than a 10-minute walk away.
The apartment is located on the West side of Whitby. You’ll be able to revel in the nostalgic seaside charm - head to the arcades or explore the beautiful, blue flag West Cliff Beach which is lined with idyllic beach huts.
Venture over the swing bridge and you’ll reach the East bank. This side of Whitby is full of narrow, mediaeval streets dotted with boutiques, pubs and fish restaurants. Climb the famous 199 steps up to the Church of Saint Mary. You can also discover the renowned ruined Whitby Abbey, which was the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s gothic novel ‘Dracula’.
Step outside of Whitby and you’ll uncover a haven of woodland and moorland. Whitby forms part of the North York Moors National Park so it’s the perfect place for long walks.
Getting Around:
You’ll find restaurants, pubs and shops just a short walk from The Old Post Office.
Whitby train station is nearby so villages and towns along the North Yorkshire coast can easily be reached via rail. There’s also a taxi rank in close proximity to the train station.
There are plenty of bus routes throughout Whitby. Hop on the X4 and you can visit beautiful coastal villages like Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Staithes. The X93 travels along the coast to Scarborough. The 95 route features plenty of quaint villages, such as Grosmont and Lealholm.
