Very nice, snug cottage in a great location. Close to Whitby Abbey and shopping, restaurants. Had all necessary amenities, coin operated laundry (machines were efficient and worked well). All in all a terrific base for exploring the coast and surrounding area. Definitely would recommend!

I stayed here with my partner and my mother for three nights. We could not have asked for a better location. The cottage had a lot of charm and was in walking distance to everything, being in the heart of town. Great sized bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Communication with the host was great as well. I would definitely recommend this charming cottage.

Hello Milissa
We're happy that you had a good stay in our old cottage. Being right in the centre is a great bonus isn't it, especially if someone isn't a good walker maybe. Thanks for recommending us and hope to have you back one day.
Many regards
Mike & Louise
the location was right in the centre of the cobbled streets of the old town. The property was comfortable if a little tired. Our main problem was the middle bedroom, which we chose to sleep in the first night to save walking up another flight of stairs, was a little loud at night. People coming from the rowing club next door having loud conversations in the alley in frount. We had to move into the top bedroom with a double glazed window on the other side of the house, after that especially as there was an 80s night in the club.

Hi Wendy, thank you for leaving us a review.
Sorry about loud people in the street. It is out of our control but we will refit the secondary double glazing again now that winters coming. This should alleviate any future noise. We remove it for summer as the rooms can get too hot. Happy that you enjoyed the location, which as you say, is in the very centre of the old part of town, so plenty of restaurants, bars and shops on your doorstep.
Thanks again.
Mike and Louise.
Lovely cottage, tucked away yet still close to all amenities.
Clean and tidy, a little small but all these fishermen's cottages are, our party was four adults and a small dog and we were fine, would defiantly book again.

Great property to stay in and quite clean, although the double bed in the first floor bedroom has seen better days it was still comfy and good for a good night's sleep.
The property is made up of 3 floors so it is more suitable for able bodied person's, through fault of my own I forgot to mention that 3 of my party were actually disabled so found it difficult to climb the stairs. But all in all we all enjoyed our stay. Thank you Mike and team !

Thank you for your review Toby. It was nice to meet you and the family too. We're glad that you enjoyed your stay. You're right with your comment, we're in the very centre so once you're settled in, everything is on your doorstep :)
Ci siamo trovati benissimo.

Thank you for your nice review Helen. We're glad you enjoyed the cottage, the location and your time in Whitby. This is our first review as we haven't been on HomeAway very long. We were slightly puzzled by only three stars though as everything was good for you and no negative comments. Hopefully a slip of the hand? We've done it before too. Welcome back anytime.😁

About the host
Hosted by Mike
We are a well travelled couple who know what we like and try to offer you the same in our holiday cottages.
We've been to 64 different countries as at 2023, travelling extensively throughout.
When we are not abroad we also like to spend time in both of our cottages too when they are not booked out.
We love Whitby for its old worlde charm and ancient character and even we find somewhere or something different each time we visit. We're never bored here as it's such an interesting place to visit.
Why they chose this property
Awd Tuts Cottage is in the perfect location in the centre of the ancient part of Whitby, close to the harbour, restuarants, bars and shops.
You will be situated in the old cobbled streets area of Whitby. This is the oldest part of Whitby, much if it dating back to the 16th & 17th centuries.
What makes this property unique
Awd Tuts Cottage has plenty of charm and character
This cottage dates back to the times that King Charles 1st was on the throne of England and later beheaded. This shows the era of when the cottage was built. Poor old Charles never even stayed at our cottage, pity, we think he'd have enjoyed his stay.
