'Riverside Cottage' is an exclusive, contemporary 3-bedroom, and 2 and 1/2-bathroom cottage, ideally placed very close to Whitby town centre and it's many attractions, including Whitby Abbey.

This gem of a cottage with full river views, nestles below the former railway viaduct. We are situated on a tidal section of the lower River Esk. You can watch the tide ebb and flow all day long.

Riverside Cottage is first for quality and comfort, and sleeps 6 people comfortably.

Riverside has two divine double bedrooms and one bedroom with modern bunk beds, perfect for the kids or even adults. All are delightfully decorated in light and airy colours.

(Cot and high chair can be provided free of charge on application)

Our superb rooms are well appointed and feature all of the amenities you would expect. The cottage setting is in a beautiful tranquil location with a free slipway to the River Esk and enjoys open views down the river toward the open sea.

Ideal for more than one family or couples or even single travellers.

The lounge has its own private balcony overlooking the River, and the charming contemporary dining room also has a view across the river. Riverside Cottage has a contemporary decoration throughout, with divine hard wood floors, and crisp modern colours and furniture.

The first floor bathroom has a shower over bath, and the second floor bathroom has a bath, both in white.

The fully equipped modern kitchen is light and airy, and again with a contemporary design.

Host profile image
We are a well travelled couple who know what we like and try to offer you the same in our holiday cottages.

We've been to 64 different countries as at 2024, travelling extensively throughout.

When we are not abroad we also like to spend time in both of our cottages too when they are not booked out.

We love Whitby for its 'old world' charm and ancient character and even we find somewhere or something different each time we visit. We're never bored here as it's such an interesting place to visit.

Why they chose this property

Beautiful riverside views in unspoilt countryside. You have a patio at ground level and also a private balcony on the mid floor. A great place to sip a beer or nice wine whilst watching the river just meander on by.

Free parking just outside the cottage is an added bonus for our guests

What makes this property unique

We are part of the North York Moors national park area and our area sits amongst river, forestry, lawns and shrubbery
