About this property

2 Bed in Whitby (oc-w725a)

This fabulous holiday home for four offers a coastal bolthole for couples and families looking to explore the delights of Whitby. The cottage boasts a central location, providing easy access to the town’s bars, pubs, and restaurants, and the main beach is just 300 metres away. Keen walkers can join The Cleveland Way, which passes through the town, or you can set off on two wheels along the traffic-free Cinder Track.

The 18th-century cottage is arranged across four floors and is full of period charm, with exposed beams, sash windows, and quirky furniture to complement the style of the property. On the ground floor is a delightful kitchen/diner, with everything needed for a self-catering holiday. You’ll also find a handy shower room on this level. Upstairs, the cosy lounge has an air of gothic elegance, and is a lovely spot to snuggle up and watch TV in the glow of the flame-effect electric fire. Heading up another level, discover a beach-themed twin bedroom with views across the harbour and to the abbey. At the top of the house, set under the sloping roof, is an inviting double bedroom with far-reaching views towards the abbey, harbour and sea. There is no outside space with this property, but with the beach just 300 metres away, it’s easy to enjoy a morning stroll along the sand.

Whitby’s West Cliff Beach has a long stretch of golden sand, backed by colourful beach huts. Spend your days building sandcastles, splashing in the sea, and sampling delicious, fresh seafood from one of the many eateries. History enthusiasts will enjoy a trip to Whitby Museum or the Captain Cook Memorial Museum, or you can hop on the steam train of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway to journey through the unspoilt landscapes of the North York Moors National Park.
