Come and enjoy this unique 850 sq ft spacious apartment with a beautiful private 300 sq ft deck with gorgeous mountain views. Sporting a spacious living room with 50”flat screen TV, in living room and bedroom, reclining sofa & love seat with french doors out to private deck with plenty of seating to relax and enjoy your coffee or cocktail looking on beautiful mountain views. Enjoy a large BR with king size bed and flat screen TV. kitchen/with full size sink and garbage disposal ,table, full size fridge, microwave, toaster, keurig coffee/tea maker, large air fry confection oven, countertop. NO Range!New washer/dryer). Full size reclining sofa and comfy love seat sitting. Please note this apartment is “Non Smoking”. The bathroom has separate entrances from bedroom and kitchen area with full size shower and counter. If business arises, a nice desk/table is available. Additional amenities include You Tube TV and internet access. After a great day of hiking enjoy relaxing on deck. This total retreat into nature is conveniently located just 5 minutes from downtown Black Mountain, named one of the 'Best Small Towns' to visit in North Carolina by with quaint mountain shops, restaurants, breweries, live music, trails, miniature golf, large premier grocery store, gas station, fast food, and within 20 minutes to Asheville, Biltmore, and the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Staying at High Top Hide-Away is like having your own home in the mountains, with the plus of having Mary Beth and Tim as gracious hosts to welcome you and make sure your stay is a comfortable one. High Top is spacious and has all the amenities needed. The location is peaceful, with beautiful views. It is only a few minutes from the center of Black Mountain, for food and shopping, and from the highway to Asheville and other adventures. I would be more than happy to stay there again.

Lovely Place

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely property. It was a good location and met all of our needs. This was our first time to the area, so having a quiet place to come back to after each busy day was just what we needed. The property owners/managers were great with communication and checking in on us.

WNC visit

We really enjoyed our stay. Peaceful setting and picturesque views. Nice accommodations. Property owner lives above cottage. We had no issues with the owner(s), it’s worth noting if you are looking for total privacy. We would stay here again.

Gem of a property. Couldn't have asked for anything better for a weekend trip. Everything was great about our stay from check in to check out. Very cozy and had everything we needed. We loved the porch swing and beautiful sunflowers. Mary Beth and Tim were available for anything we needed. Very close to downtown Black Mountain. We loved the small town feeling. Very close to blue ridge parkway, chimney rock and lake lure! We will definitely be back.

Peaceful getaway

Mary Beth and Tim were wonderful hosts and the apartment was just lovely. It has everything you need for a few quiet days in the mountains, and they were very responsive to questions leading up to my arrival. Bed was comfortable, ample pillow options, plenty of space, not to mention beautiful outdoor deck and scenery. Just a few minutes drive into town for amenities, hiking trails, etc. Highly recommend.

Peaceful stay in the mountains

Lovely Black Mountain hillside property was just the ticket for our long weekend in WNC. Close to Asheville but even better right there in Black Mountain - lively town with good food and great live music - and on the Blue Ridge Parkway where the vistas never disappoint. Appreciate the hosts’ hospitality and for making this great spot available to travelers. Thumbs up! We recommend Hilltop Hideaway.

Such a treasure!

What a great place for our weekend!! The apartment was the perfect space for my partner and I. He loved the private deck and I loved the landscape and bedroom. Mary Beth and Tim were wonderful hosts and were very helpful if we needed anything. They even gave us suggestions as to where to have our mobile couples massage! It was private, cozy, and you really need to book this place! We can't wait to come back!!

We enjoyed our stay! The property was spacious and clean with a good bed, comfortable furniture throughout and a lovely deck area. It is convenient to downtown Black Mountain yet up on the hillside in a nice setting. It is also within an approximately 30 min drive to Chimney Rock, Mount Mitchell, and Asheville. The owners were very responsive with a minor problem we had. The only negative, was that the wifi is sketchy, frequently less than 1 Mbps.

Thank you for nice review. We are sorry for the internet experience. Spectrum was working on the entire neighborhood for 4 grueling days. Agreed it was very slow. We normally have over 100-150dls. We also have a strong WI-FI mesh system. Spectrum is normally good for us but has been struggling for a week around the time you were here. Please come back sometime.

The High Top Hideaway, is the perfect Getaway!

What a great place to unwind and relax. The grounds are beautiful, the Hideaway is very private, nicely decorated and comfortable. The owners, Tim and Mary Beth are friendly, yet you feel like you have the place to yourselves. They have stocked the Hideaway with everything to make you feel at home, and welcomed! The basket of snacks and treats, along with a nice bottle of wine and a couple of cold beers were much appreciated after a day of travel! The homes location is great! Your in the woods, but restaurants and shopping are just down the road.

High Top Hide Away

Lovely lower level apartment. Plenty of room, and everything we needed was provided. The only negative aspect of this property, was the stone walk down to the entrance. It was difficult to manage for two old people with luggage, etc. in our hands. Steps may have made it easier.

This hide-away exceeded our expectations. It is a very quiet spot with a lovely view from the patio. The facilities were great. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, and paper products that we did not expect. While the kitchen does not have a range, there is a great grill, George Forman grill etc. With a little planning, we were able to fix most of our meals. The accommodations are very, very quiet and comfortable. There were a lot of very nice arrival touches. The host and hostess were very welcoming and accommodating. We will definitely consider the Hide-away for future trips.

Excellent stay

Wonderful stay at this basement apartment. Great outdoor area with covered porch for eating and working. Attentive hosts - the place was well-equipped and had everything we needed. We appreciated all the details - cooktop portable range and convection oven/air-fryer made for easy meals in, plenty of towels and blankets, and lots of reading materials about surrounding area and restaurants. There's even gym equipment and a large book and dvd collections. The only thing we didn't love was the bed - it's one of those where if your partner moves, you feel it, which didn't work for us light sleepers. But there are enough glowing reviews that make me think we are just sensitive!
