Beautiful house as described.Just a little disappointed with the cleaning of property, sweet wrappers down the sofa seats and the grill was layered with fat. Hot tub was gorgeous very clean and lovely to relax in of an evening. This does not reflect on the hosts as all communication dealt with perfectly.Just wanted to give an honest review.

About the host

Hosted by Alex Johnson

Host profile image
We’re Kate and Alex, a husband-and-wife team based in South Wales. We manage Synod Cottage ourselves, with the help of trusted local friends and tradespeople who help us keep everything clean, comfortable and well maintained.

We enjoy sharing this part of West Wales with guests and are always happy to offer recommendations for beaches, walks, places to eat and local attractions. Our aim is simple — to make every stay relaxed, welcoming and easy from the moment guests arrive.

Why they chose this property

West Wales has always been a special place for our family. Alex’s mum lived locally for many years, so we spent a lot of time visiting the area before buying Synod Cottage in 2023.

We love the mix of peaceful countryside, beautiful coastline and easy access to places such as New Quay, Aberaeron and Cardigan Bay. It’s somewhere we genuinely enjoy spending time ourselves, and we wanted to create a comfortable base that other families, couples and friends could enjoy too.

What makes this property unique

Synod Cottage combines privacy, space and a great location for exploring the Ceredigion coast. Guests have a private 5-person hot tub, enclosed garden, covered outdoor area, BBQ space, two living areas and plenty of private parking.

The cottage works particularly well for couples, families, friends and dog owners who want somewhere comfortable to relax after a day at the beach, walking the coast or exploring West Wales.

What we love most is that guests can enjoy the peace and privacy of the cottage while still being within easy reach of New Quay, Aberaeron and the wider Cardigan Bay area.
