About this property

Tre@Westminster_Residence - Spacious Period Townhouse in Douglas with EV Charger

Conveniently located in upper Douglas with the TT Course, restaurants and pubs within a short walking distance, Tre@Westminster_Residence is a spacious holiday home built upon a Victorian townhouse. Its interior has been carefully decorated to infuse a nostalgic mood into your holidays. Despite this, key facilities have been modernized to ensure a high degree of comfort. We even provide EV charging inside the premises so you may travel around to enjoy the beauty of the island without hassle.

The house is laid out over three floors. The Ground floor consists of a living room with sofas and armchairs to comfortably sit 8 adults, a dining room, and a kitchen with access to a patio and gated parking area (good for 1 car or a fleet of motorcycles). The first floor houses the master bedroom and a guest bedroom both with super king-size beds, a junior bedroom with a bunk bed, a guest toilet as well as a large family bathroom with both a bathtub and a walk-in shower. The second floor is almost like a standalone unit designed specifically for young couples. It is fitted with a fully equipped open-plan lounge/kitchen and an ensuite bedroom with a king-size bed. Upon request, each of the super king size beds on the first floor can be converted into two single size beds.

Walking into the house you can see loads of original features that have been sitting in there for over 100 years. These include Victorian floor tiles, stripped pine flooring, ornate ceiling rose, cast iron fireplaces (for display only), exposed Manx stone walls and exposed wooden roof beams. These have been carefully matched with vintage furniture, lighting, art, and decorative items which hopefully can help to make every stay a memorable experience.

About the host

Host profile image
Having worked and travelled extensively in our professional career, we decided to settle down in the Isle of Man for retirement. Our acquaintance with the island can be described as one of “love at first sight”. Since our first visit, we have been attracted by its beautiful landscape, mild climate, peaceful environment, and friendly people. By offering our houses as holiday cottages, we hope we can play a part in helping guests on the island feel at home.

Why they chose this property

Our house is located in a quiet residential area in upper Douglas with the TT Course within walking distance. 2 minutes' walk to the nearest pub. 5-7 minutes' walk to restaurants, supermarkets and pubs. Nice mountain views from rear windows.

What makes this property unique

We fell in love with this beautiful Victorian townhouse since our first visit, and decided to convert it into our first holiday home. Many of the things you see in this house have been there for over a century. During the conversion, we have tried our best to conserve as many period features as we could. Of course, we also need to make the house functional and comfortable. All the furniture and fittings have been chosen to match the styling of the house but at the same time have to be functional and comfortable. It has been a challenge but we're really proud of the results.
