About this property
Tranquil Home in Newcastle-Gateshead. Ideal for Family or Workers. Close to Town
Welcome to our beautifully refreshed Georgian terrace house, lovingly restored and perfectly positioned on Windmill Hill in Gateshead. This three-bedroom property boasts all the historic charm of its era coupled with modern comforts and conveniences, promising a truly unique stay.
This home is a tranquil retreat nestled amidst the hustle and bustle of the Newcastle-Gateshead metropolitan area. The house overlooks a quiet, verdant playing field once belonging to a now non-existent primary school, offering a peaceful view unmarred by traffic or schoolyard noise. It is this blend of serenity and accessibility that truly sets our property apart.
The bedrooms are one of the standout features of the house. Two of them can be made up as either Super-King double or twin setups, offering the flexibility to cater to a variety of guest needs, whether you're a family, a group of friends, or work colleagues. The well-equipped kitchen, complete with a double oven, a 5-burner hob, and essential appliances, ensures that you have everything you need for home-cooked meals during your stay.
We are particularly proud of our commitment to providing a homey and comfortable space. As new owners since May 2023, we have prioritized enhancing the warmth and character of our property, creating a space that guests will love returning to after a day of exploring or working in the area.
The house is within walking distance of Gateshead town centre, providing easy access to transport links. This means you can explore the broader Newcastle area or venture further afield with ease. You'll also find a variety of local amenities nearby, from unique independent shops on Coatsworth Road to the Gateshead Interchange for metro and bus links. The location is perfect for those who enjoy a leisurely stroll to discover local treasures.
Guests often express their love for the location - a perfect balance of suburban tranquility and city convenience. The proximity to various attractions is another point of praise. Cultural venues such as the Sage Gateshead, the Baltic Art Centre, and Newcastle's Theatre Royal are within easy reach, as are shopping destinations like Gateshead Metro Centre, Teams Valley, and Newcastle City Centre.
One of our favourite local spots, only a short walk away, is the Baltic Art Centre. Housed in a converted flour mill, it showcases contemporary art with an ever-changing roster of exhibitions. After appreciating the art, you can step up to the rooftop restaurant for a meal with panoramic views of the city.
Business travellers also appreciate the proximity to large employers like Gateshead QE Hospital, Newcastle's RVI, Freeman, Great North Children's Hospital, Sage Accounting, Siemens, and Komatsu. And for those needing to stay connected, the house features high-speed internet with approximately 110MB download speed, perfect for remote working and streaming on the 50" TV.
As for education, the area is home to reputable institutions like Newcastle University, Northumbria University, Newcastle College, and Gateshead College, making our property an excellent base for students or visiting faculty.
One of our guests, Anna, said in April 2023: "The location is near a metro station and local shops. Overall the place is a great one to stay in if you’re looking for somewhere near the centre." This feedback reflects what we believe to be one of the strongest selling points of our property – its blend of tranquility and convenience.
Experience the history, culture, and warmth of Newcastle-Gateshead at our beautiful Georgian terrace – your home away from home.
