About this property

Beautifully Restored Tudor Cottage w large garden + Summerhouse. Family & pets!

This is a Tudor cottage which has been lovingly refurbished and extended to provide a stunning countryside retreat ideal for those wanting to escape the rat race. The cottage and separate summerhouse sit in 10 acres of gardens in the rolling hills of Elham Valley with no immediate neighbours but is conveniently located for the historic cathedral city of Canterbury and the East Kent coast. The garden includes a woodland, hillside patio with a wood fired hot tub and a garden reading room.
The space
Recently refurbished to a very high standard the main house offers three large double bedrooms, three bathrooms, sitting room centered around a large Inglenook fireplace together with a large chesterfield sofa bed which doubles as a pull out sofa bed, boot room for all those muddy country dog walks and a large country kitchen with bifold doors leading into the gardens. In addition, the property has ‘the summerhouse’ a self contained oak framed glass building which has a kitchen, bathroom, day bed which can be used as either a superking bed or two single beds. The main Tudor cottage combines all the charms of yesteryear with all of today's modern creature comforts and is ideal for large family get-togethers. The summerhouse is situated 100 meters away in the garden and is perfect for spreading your party across two properties allowing for some privacy for relatives staying with you but wanting their own space.
In total the main house and the Summerhouse sleep maximum 10 guests, across 3 double bedrooms, 1 double sofa bed in the living room and 2 guests in the separate summerhouse. All 10 guest can sit comfortably around the table for meals.
Guest access
Guests have free run of the grounds. The hill side garden and meadow extend to 10 acres which lead up to several footpaths including the ever popular Elham Valley Way. There is a wonderful hillside patio and seating area with views across the garden which has a 6-8 person wood fired hot tub which can be hired for an additional £150 for the duration of your stay.

Other things to note
Wingmore is very much off the beaten track and is ideal for those looking to get lost in the depths of the countryside. The nearest village local shop is 3 miles away but we are always happy to stock basic items to tide you over until you can reach the exciting aisles of local supermarkets in nearby Canterbury which is a 20 minute drive away. We have lovely local farm shops and an artisan bakery within a few minutes' drive, these have shorter opening hours.
