With many thoughtful touches to ensure that this is a real home from home, with everything you could wish for on a stay by the sea. Stepping inside the hallway branches out to all the rooms. The living room is the heart of the apartment and boasts wonderful views over the town and to the abbey. In here you have two sumptuous leather sofas to unwind on, as well as the open plan dining area. The kitchen is separate and very well equipped, so that you can create all of your favourite meals. Both bedrooms are beautifully presented, there is the master kingsize bedroom with a TV, a dressing table as well as a wardrobe for your belongings, plus a single bedroom with a built-in wardrobe. The apartment is complete with the shower room. Hosted by award winning very experienced hosts who have thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable including complimentary toiletries.
Simply park the car or amble up from the very close bus and railway stations then you can explore on foot. At the front of the spacious apartment you have a small outdoor seating area, where you can sit out in the sunshine, perhaps dining al fresco if you wish, or simply enjoying a morning coffee in the fresh air. This town was inspiration for Bram Stoker’s Dracula, and there is a dark side of Whitby with ghost walks to both fright and delight. The town is steeped in history, which you can explore further when visiting the abbey, as well as the museums – from the Captain Cook Museum, the lifeboat museum as well as the Whitby Museum in Pannet Park. The wonderful Goth Festival takes place twice a year and keep an eye out for other festivals such as the Folk Festival, Whitby Regatta and the Steam Punk Weekend. With many award-winning restaurants, olde worlde pubs and tea rooms, a colourful harbour, and a glorious long golden beach, this is a great place for all interests and ages. The unspoilt fishing village of Staithes, 10 miles away, nestles into the cliffs of the Heritage Coast and is just one of the nearby beauty spots to explore. Other hidden gems include Runswick Bay, Saltburn-by-the-Sea and Robin Hood’s Bay, each has its own story to tell, including tales of piracy and smugglers.
There is an abundance of walks and cycle tracks for ramblers and cyclists to take advantage of, including the Cleveland Way along the cliff tops, as well as the Cinder Track. Or enjoy the scenery from the windows of the steam train that travels right into the heart of the North York Moors National Park from Whitby to Pickering. Other attractions for a day out include Flamingo Land, Dalby Forest as well as Alpamare Waterpark and Spa. It is a dog walkers mecca and there are many maps and guides to assist you in the apartment and a helpul information ring binder.
