Great location
Really good location- only 10 minute walk from most hotspots. The only downfall was the condition of the sofa- it was dirty and overused. The sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable to sleep on and gave me hip pain.
The actual bed and was comfortable and rest of the flat was immaculate. Great facilities and clean

Great location. Clean and tidy apartment.
Nice apartment with plenty of space. There are a flight of stairs to go down into the Servants Quarter apartment so don’t bring too much or heavy luggage! Couldn’t fault the location. Right in the very Centre of York. Very clean, well equipped apartment. Would recommend. Especially if you want more space than a hotel room.

Great hidden gem!
This was such a lovely place to stay for a couple of nights! Ideal location, comfy bed, and it feels very secure and hidden away. Super easy to get into.
Only complaint is at nighttime there’s no soundproofing to the street above, there were a good few drunk people wandering around which is no problem, but you can hear everything happening on the street very clearly, which made it hard to ignore.
The pull out bed isn’t very comfortable, springy mattress, so one member ended up sleeping on the sofa itself.
If neither of those things bother you, I would definitely recommend staying here!

Disappointing overnight stay.
Beautifully presented accommodation in a great location which was totally spoiled by a few points.
Firstly, the awful smell of drains which had been unsuccessfully camouflaged by several air fresheners throughout the apartment.
Secondly, due to the fact that the basement bedroom is directly under the street, the only hope to a good nights sleep is by using ear plugs to block out the constant noise from above and a sleep mask to block out the continuous bright light coming through the glass bricks in the ceiling.
Thirdly , the small terrace was nothing like the pictures, it was very damp, dirty and hadn’t even been swept.
We would never return and cannot recommend staying here as there are far nicer (and cheaper) places to stay in beautiful York.

Servant quarters
Found place very dark with no windows which you could have done with some fresh air through the place. Also could have been cleaner especially the stairs down to the servants quarters could have done with a good hoover and the skirting boards could have done with a clean. Found when having a shower water not draining away.
With the cost of the place which is not cheap you do expect 5 star luxury.
Customer service received and instructions about our stay were first class also the location.
Would stay again but definitely choose a different room.

Amazing stay!
Had an amazing stay at the servants quarters and it was almost faultless. Spacious, clean, amazingly decorated and designed and very well equipped. The only two things marked as a 4 instead of a 5 were not enough to detract from a great stay, but more for feedback and consideration. The large tap over the bath was leaking and started to create a puddle behind the bath which just needs looking at as it could damage the floor more than anything. And with it being under ground, if you were a light sleeper, the noise of people walking above could be an issue but I’d just recommend picking another one of the lovely rooms above ground level! Customer service was great too as I only found this room late on and changed our original room booked at late notice. I will definitely be back and have already recommended to several people! Thank you for an perfect stay - my partner had the best birthday

Its a beautifully renovated apartment right in the middle of york. Spacious and clean however its a new renovation with a number of safety concerns. There are no windows in the apartment only a patior door to the outside space. It would not be suitable for anyone who struggles with stairs or heavy doors. There are a number of issues around H&S relating to space and exit during a fire. These concerns were raised with the letting agent who seemed unconcerned. If you do stay here use the train station to park as its nearby long stay and the lowest priced!

OK good location!
I had high hopes for this place for the simple reason it was a new property didn't really get that from walking in all walls marked guessing from guest cases our room was OK not the best cleaned still all red love hearts all over the floor throughout from the last guests empty packet on one of chairs, a hair bobble within the room guide book & bathroom wasn't upto my cleanliness at all toothpaste down sink cupboard door & not one single toilet roll provided so the first thing we had to do was go out & buy toilet roll as no one about to speak to at property to ask for some! Room was quite noisy so not the best couple of nights sleep & then a fire alarm going off in the morning when I'd just got out of the shower wasn't ideal when we got to the door of our room a cleaner was going past I said is everything OK she said yes I said just the fire alarm is going off for her to reply oh yeah it's fine it happens all the time it's abit "faulty" one no sorry about that & two not very reassuring when your in a basement apartment & it's a regular thing! Location was good though so that was a plus of the weekend I would say that's the highlight of the property is the location.

Good afternoon, thank you for your review.
We are very sorry to hear about the issues with cleanliness you experienced during your stay with us. Please be assured this is not our usual standard and we have passed on your comments to the cleaning company. Had you let us know about these during your stay, we would have been able to send the cleaners back.
Regarding the fire alarm, this is not faulty and it gets checked regularly by the team. On the day the alarm went off during your stay, one of the other guests had accidentally burned their breakfast and set off the alarms in the entire building. Two members of the team attended to this straight away and the alarms were turned off.
We hope you still had a nice time in York and we look forward to welcoming you back in the future.
Kind regards
