About this property

Timber Lodge - sleeps 2 guests in 1 bedroom

The thriving village of Tackley lies in the Cherwell Valley and is the perfect base for a countryside escape. Timber Lodge is one of two lovely properties set in a peaceful courtyard in the heart of the village. The bus stop to Oxford is just outside and there's a railway line to Oxford and Bicester Village within walking distance.

Designed to make the most of the space available, Timber Lodge has a spacious open-plan living ground floor with a retro feel. A large sofa ensures plenty of comfy seating, there's a contemporary marble dining table and a fully equipped kitchen with everything needed for a self-catering stay. There's also a ground-floor cloakroom. Beyond two sets of double doors is a private terrace where you can enjoy alfresco meals or drinks in the sunshine. The first floor encompasses the super-king size bedroom, where you'll find oodles of space to relax and unwind, along with a well-appointed en-suite shower room.

The private terrace means you can relax in the fresh air or enjoy a drink as the sun goes down. There are two private parking spaces in the courtyard.

Fabulous
We had a lovely stay at the lodge. A fantastic big bed and lovely spacious rooms with plenty of room for a little one to crawl around. The host Lisa couldn’t do enough for us and was absolutely brilliant and providing recommendations on where to visit locally. This is one of the premier 1 bedroom properties we have stayed in and we look forward to staying again.

Weekend stay for a birthday and Mother’s Day
A few years ago my son and his mother came to stay from Norway for Christmas as my mum and sister live in the village but don’t have enough room for two extra visitors. They stayed in the adjacent property, Buffs Lodge, which was ideal as it has two bedrooms. This time my son and his girlfriend came for my mum’s 92nd birthday on the Saturday and Mother’s Day on the Sunday. I was disappointed to find that Buff’s Lodge was already booked and only Timber Lodge was available, but as it turned out it was just as good or maybe better for a couple as the one-bedroom property is absolutely perfect for a couple, my son asked me to write a great review as it was such a great weekend for them. The owner always leaves milk and essentials and lives next door and is very approachable if needed but is never intrusive. Both properties are like a home from home and I don’t want to recommend them too highly in case they get booked up next time I want to stay there, but in reality I can’t recommend them highly enough! Wonderful place to stay!
