About this property

The perfect base to explore the wonderful sights and sounds of Derry City.

Enjoy views of Derry's historic walls and St Columb's Cathredal. Acushla House is a short walk to the famous murals and Free Derry Corner. Whether you’re here for the superb nightlife, live music and craic, or want to soak up the history of this place, take in a show, wander around the Walls, stroll across the Peace Bridge, visit museums or go shopping, this is an excellent choice. Alternatively you may want to use it as a base to visit explore the north west regions including the North Coast and Donegal.

At a time when taxi cabs are increasingly difficult to book you’ll be thankful it’s just a short walk home from a night on the town or a day spent sightseeing because you don’t need to worry about driving or trying to find a parking space as almost everything you’d want to do and see is within walking distance.

Our historic walls, the only fully walled city in Ireland built in the 1600s are visible from your window and are about five minutes walk away. The fantastic murals and the landmark Free Derry Corner (“You are now entering Free Derry” gable wall) which chart our recent history are even closer.
New visitors to Derry invariably remark on how compact the city is, making it easy to fit so much into your day.

Derry

We enjoyed a two day visit to Derry. The highlights were walking the Derry walls and learning more about the history and troubles of Northern Ireland.

Great home. Very clean and comfortable accommodations for our group of six. Nothing fancy but everything we needed for our visit to Derry. Brian, the owner was very kind and accommodating when we left a bag behind and made a special trip to retrieve it for us and meet a family member to come and pick it up. Will definitely rent again when we return for another visit .

Short stay with larger family

Communication was excellent and the property manager was caring. Parking was a little rough and being on a busy street corner wasn’t ideal, but it was very close and within walking distance to downtown which was convenient. The stairs are very creaky which was a little tough with a toddler, but definitely manageable! Lots of room to fit our family of 6.

reunion with friends

the place had lots of space for four adults. the location was excellent we walked everywhere. Derby pub was close with live irish music. i would highly recommend this place. it was noisy due to traffic but it quieted down at night. it did not interfere with our sleeping. there are allot of stairs if you find that difficult. we thought it to be quaint.
